So lets blame all the parents???? Ya we could.....we could also blame the whole of society if you ask me......how about all those 1 parent families.....those ppl working their ass off for food on the table....but lets not forget the 2 parent families with the big house and 3 cars and the mortgage and the summer home and ohhhhhhhhhh lets not forget that we need a babysitter and that could be video games, videos,computers, pizza pops, mcdonalds and tv, ohhhhhhhhhhhhh lets just blame everyone but the real culprits????

Btw...no one can actually say what exactly that is because its a combination of the world we live in.......product of our society.....Can we change it?

The only reason our generation has really done anything yet is that we are still young. The way technology is going our generation will do great things. Genetics, Nano technology, Modern Medicine, all these things are rapidly developing and our generation will be the ones at the helm.

As far as the person that said they see kids with no discipline, respect, or the ability to take responsibility, those are all learned behaviors. They most likely don't have them because they were not taught them. Besides you can have an IQ of 150 and not be disciplined or have respect for others.

kids have it hard now days i wouldnt want to be in school now. good luck to kids every where so no to drugs,guns and violence.

I taught high school from 1968 until 2002. Something happened in 1775. I don't know what. It was overnight. They left in May on grade level and returned in the fall illiterate. I blame the assumption that all kids learn and are capable of being educated on the same level. WRONG! The poor can be successful. Minorities can be educated and successful. Yes, but NOT ALL of them. Blame the public for believing this bunch of crap, and blame the school system for going along with it. Try failing 25% of your class (50% would be more on target). Try it! See how long you keep your jobs, teachers. And to the millions of parents who think their kid is Gifted/Talented or AP material. Guess what? They're not! I hope I have my punctuation, grammar, and spelling correct.

ithink is the economics. Back in the fifties, one person could work and the other take care of home. usually the textbook Father working who got a decent wage, bennies and retirement. They had the house, the boat and they got by. Now it takes both people working to just get by, and without the boat payment too. You could buy a house back then for $6,000.00 a car was $1500 off the lot a good worker made $1500 a year but it went far enough. NOW IF YOUR NOT MAKING 50,000 a household your just surviving, not really living. Both parents work leaving more of the child raising tasks to the schools, the day care, ect.

Well Yes and NO...

Under bushco Jr. the youth of tomarrow are expected to become No Smarter the our current President,this dose not bode well for the future...

But quite a few parents have opted to Home School their own kids
So there is hope,But not much because they tend to send Home Schooled kids to the front lines in Iraq
or they are targeted and killed long before they even grow up...
