not everyone has the gift of expressing themselves . Or the confidence to do so . For many english is not their first language and they struggle with basic conversation . Some have low self esteem and this colours how they see and present themselves .. We are all flawed .. Your outlook is commendable and very refreshing I actually have as one of the first sentences on my profile that I am flawed and it is something I am always aware of . This thread I started is really a venting ground for people's grievances with profiles, but not about people themselves. For all how I rant about profiles because it is my pet peeve, I still respond to alot of the people whose profiles irritate me because I try to give people a chance and in some cases even several chances because as you so rightly indicated , nobody is perfect. The stuffy uptight profiles I was referring to earlier are not of the people who cant speak english well or are socially awkward, but the ones of the people who rattle off a list of qualities they don't want in people, as opposed to a description of who they are, which was actually a complaint made by a couple of people in this discussion. Because this conversation thread is a venting ground for profile grievances , the tone of most of the comments don't contain the graciousness that your personality so beautifully radiates . The act of venting however, is a healthy release sometimes and who knows? Maybe those who read it may gain some helpful tips for improvement when they review their profiles through the eyes of strangers. Stranger things have happened

as with most things in life .. Time is a valuable commodity . By choosing to stipulate preferences rather than present themselves I guess they are looking to streamline the interrogation process .. Laughing . As you say it is healthy to vent .. I generally just roll my eyes . Lol .. Plus my filters are set to be impenetrable . Laughing . Likewise .. You have a good attitude and no problems articulating your thoughts . I am sure you have the upper hand in your quest . Lovely to have you in the forums
