see lots of these show up as threads on forums
where I may be more likely to throw in my two cents

Nah, answering those questions would be nice to get more insight in yourself, it wouldn't really give you anything much about the other person.
If it was relevant in context to ask one of such questions in conversation, it could however get a nice somewhat different convo going.
Some of these questions could also lead to a more funnier, playful conversation if things are getting a bit too serious or boring.
So they could have use. But the ones above, not really out of the blue.

Different, well thought through questions could give a different result, like insight in the other, which can be helpful.

For instance .. today I got the first rude answer to my question "if you could take me out for 3 days, all expenses paid ..."
He said "I'd take you to a swingers club and F you and watch you being F-ed."
Now however interesting that may be, LOL, I deleted the bloke from the contact list.

Many guys really come up with interesting stuff. One even said, I'd like to take you to the States, but since we only got 3 days, we'd be on the plane only. So I'd take you to Rhodos.
The guy actually gave it thought, without any effort I think. Man is a teacher, teacher are smart (I know, I used to be one, haha)

So it helps to sift and sort and separate the wheat from the chaff
