if the dog was adopted you don't know what the people before her did......also some dogs just are like that.....just reassure her with a touch........if she was not adopted from someone else....take her to the vet to make sure...but I think she is having puppy nightmares.....and the person who talked about rem sleep very true...and get there much faster then us human folk.

One of my cougars does this....and she is soooo loud....and same with breathing and all......also most of my domestic ferals do this also...so no worries.

my dog does this and I let her sleep next to me ... the vet says it is because she is afraid of something..... she is fine afraid I let her cuddle next to me where she can feel me.

Besides, if there are spirits there they are nothing to be scared of. They can't and wouldnt' hurt you. Don't you think that if spirits were able to seek revenge or whatever that they'd focus on like, the evils of Bin Laden or something like that?

When my dog had seizures, she became very rigid, and had a weird look in her eyes, almost as if she couldn't see. After her seizuure she would appear to go back to normal, play etc. You need to take the dog to a vet.
