Topic: Why don't people get replies back?

I already know this answer. People are not too busy. They are not interested. Plain and simple. We have probably had a couple message conversations with someone from time to time. When they stop messaging back---they are not interested anymore. Things change, and its not the end of the world. We should not take it personal. I don't, and I have no hard feelings toward that person. But why would someone ask what it is that makes them not the one for you? I refuse to hurt someones feelings by really telling them why-- I think it is better to just let it go. Any comments on this?

I have more of an issue with people who don't bother to reply to e-mails at all. For a few months after I first joined, I would try sending welcoming e-mails to new local people on the site; not a single one ever replied.

So I gave up on writing to anyone first. It's worked out OK, though, because I've been here long enough, and posted enough, that people will often write to me. Now I get plenty of e-mail here, but I won't write to anyone first.

But I still never hear from anyone within 897,000 miles....

Some people are just rude, what can you do....?

I think there are a few categories of people on here. This is how it may go.

Group 1: Nice but you are not attracted to them

Group 2: Attractive, likes flirt and really cannot be serious
about you

Group 3: Not looking for someone, and just wants to make
friends

Group 4: Those who just want to seek sympathy for self-esteem
issues, a pat on the back, or fishing for compliments

There! I said it and I am not taking it back. Mofos!

They are superficial and only reply or stay in contact if you are attractive to them.

OK--What I mean is that I really don't mind people not responding back to an email cause that tells me that they are not interested--its not like we are dating. I just dont like someone asking after our first email--why I am not interested-- because I don't want to hurt anyones feelings by telling the truth.

Part of this has to do with expectations. If I write to someone who does not reply back or even if I've been communicating and they stop responding, that's really OK with me. I'm not owed a thing just because I set up a profile. I would like to think that if I've done something to offend, someone will let me know, but outside of that, my knocking on a door does not obligate anyone to answer.

I would prefer the truth, then silence, we are adults, we can handle it.
