I absolutely prefer the company/dating of women older than me. Always preferred.
People sometimes think that's strange or sometimes it gets very popular.
I don't see anyhing strange on that. There are many ladies acting, thinking and looking as younger than their age and men being boring and old looking even in theyr 20's.
So age is just a number also for you?
Did you experience this kind of dating? Did you like oer did you find in it the "problems" that many people say about that?

I won't even look at a man unless he is over 45. I want the maturity and conversation levels to be on the same page.

I someway agree with both of you, but i look at that from a different point of view and with different conclusions:
First of all nobody says that the dating will be for all life... but can also be only for a period, short or long depending on the will of both her and him.
it could be only the looking for some fun and satisfaction, or a romantic story but it should end when one of both the parts think it's no more comfortable.
Then i also have to say that there are men in theyr 40's stupid as a piece of wood and guys in theyr 20's smart as blades and very deep.
So i think if you feel to do that (older woman younger man) you should just do

Age doesn't matter, it's just a number. What's important in a relationship or in dating is both of you hit it off or you are compatible, or you jive. Whatever people say, it's just their opinion, don't let it control, dictate or stop you.....what you want to do, do it....whatever makes you happy , go for it. It's your heart that will dictate you what you want to do not the opinion of others. As for the maturity, it does not go with age...... it's how your heart and mind works not your age. You could be young at heart and matured in thinking which goes for any age depends on who you are and what you are. Some are even older but still immature , others are young but mature.

To me saying "age is just a number" is like saying "gender" is just a six letter word.
Or "species" is just a seven letter word.

Might as well say "I don't care when wine was made, it all tastes the same! Age is just a number! All that matters is that it gets you drunk and makes you feel good. You don't have to drink it forever. You can have a 100 year old bottle of wine that tastes like crap, and a 10 day old wine that tastes great."

People with no palate can believe that, but people that do more than just enjoy getting drunk tend to ignore the statement as silly and childish.

Age was always a factor among many.
Easily reflected in their personality, goals, desires, abilities, and in many other ways; some subtle, others not so subtle.

Some folks have been watching way too many episodes of "Cougar town" on TV.

Well just as you love older women, I love older men, so I obviously don't have a problem with age-group relationships. And how the two get along, when they're in each others company, is what drives them. We all have preferences. It's nothing new. Taboo in SOME peoples eyes, but I just ignore judgemental draconian kinds. The draconian rule book doesn't apply to much these days anyway :)
