LDR are very hard to make work! I actually fell for someone in New Zealand so we were 9000 miles apart. He flew here and then I flew there. Do you know how expensive this relationship became!!
We actually checked into how hard would it be for him to move here to the states. When it all came down to it, no one wanted to move away from their family. We both decided it would be best to just end the whole relationship and not keep in touch. So I not only lost my boyfriend but I also lost my best friend!! NO I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIPS WORK...EVER!!! |

I think if you fall in love with someone you meet in person it is possible to endure separations if both parties try to make it as bearable as possible, Until you meet in person it is just and idea , a hope, but it is really just a fantasy until you make it real. Is it easy? No. Is it worth it. YES. Life is too LONG to spend it living alone without someone to give and receive love from. It doesn't mean you have to be in your partners immediate presence if you are in their heart. And they are in yours. You are right bout that .. I believe in a long distance relationship, so far we are always in touch |

I am sorry to hear that you were hurt with this and yet I think the flaw in the beginning was neither one of you was honest about relocating. To even consider a LDR it has to be discussed right up front if this works which one will be moving... I am in a LDR...Before we went exclusive we discussed it and we both knew beforehand it would be me doing the moving. LDR's are hard enough to make them work without great communication, trust, honesty of all things. If this isn't done it is a fantasy that will be an epic fail. |

For me, yes and no.
If I was in a good and strong relationship and then we were separated by distance - I would do everything possible to make it work. I'd move to her, and hopefully, she'd want to move to me. But for a new and budding relationship - no way. There would have to be a quick resolution to the distance. I have to spend time with someone to truly get to know them before I will hand them my heart to keep. Actions do speak louder than words. And I want to *date* the person... not sit around and pine for them. I want to share life with them, not live my life with them not being there. |
