Went to the store to pick up a few things. I didn't know there was light & dark brown sugar? Didn't know which one to get so I got both. I'm thinking...Which do I use for which recipes? I never knew brown sugar could be confusing.

I never knew brown sugar could be confusing. It's a matter of personal preference. Dark brown has a stronger molasses flavor so it depends on how strong of a flavor you want. They can be used interchangeably. I never noticed that much of a difference when baking

Having mixed feelings about giving away a brilliantly painted backdrop to a school that may or may not take care of it. I know it sounds harsh. I really hope the kids get such fruitful use out of it!!!! However it IS really cleverly painted.

I woke up this morning warm and cozy with my mind on mundane things. Not once during the night did I awake to the sound of gunfire, air raid sirens, planes over head, or the detonation of bombs. Not once during the night did I hold my babies and fear for their lives. Not once during the night did I doubt my safety in my own home. We take it for granted, don't we? It's not like this everywhere, this peace, this protection. Veterans and active military personnel, especially my dad :-) my hero....thank you. Thank you for this peace at home.
