From the website's HELP Section.

Q. How do I delete my account?

A. To remove your account from our system, click on the "My Account" tab, then on the "Settings" link. Then, click on "De-Activate Profile". Once your account has been deactivated, you will still be able to login, but your profile will no longer be viewable by other users and you will not appear in any search results. You also will not be able to receive any mail through JustSayHi. If you'd like to reactivate your account, simply click on "Re-Activate Profile".

This doesn't allow someone to actually DELETE their profile from your database, it merely de-activates the profile from being visiable.

Just as NO means "NO", DELETE should mean DELETE.

Am I missing something here?

it's a FREE site. with freedom of expression. you could re-edit your profile on the way out and blank everything. then, de-activate. but why? it's not like it costs a car payment to be noticed?

red4luv, i was wondering about that too. I don't think it can be deleted, but why is that, can anything ever be entirely deleted on the net anyways?

Just like when you delete something off your computer and it goes into the recycling bin and you can retrieve it, you do the same thing here. When deactivating your acount it denies everybody to be able to see your profile. And after a certain amount of time of not returning it does get completely deleted of there data base. So just like crap and sh1t mean the same thing. Deactivate and delete also means the same thing.

Hmm....good question. If you're account is just de-activated, then your information is still being stored in the data base, which ultimately is taking up space on the server. You would think that eventually, unused information would need to be purged from the system, or a larger server would end up being needed over the course of time.

whisper, thanks I hope you are right about it being completely deleted from their database, or are you sure it isn't stored somewhere else?

No, the onwers have stated that after a certain amount of time it does get deleted completely. Other wise yes it would be to heavy on the servers.
