My goodness it sure is nice to be nice and warm again, it was a tad chilly up here in the North East today.

Nice cup of tea makes everything better. drinker

What is everyones favorite book of the Bible.....and why?

I would have to say mine is the book of Isaiah.

for the fact that it's message: Salvation is of the Lord....The basic theme of this book is found in Isaiah's name: "Salvation is of the Lord." The word salvation appears 27 times in Isaiah but only 8 times in all other prophets combined. Chapter 1-39 portray man's great need for salvation, and chapters 40-66 reveal God's great provision of salvation.

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires
of your heart.

You never know what God has in store for you Spider, never
give up hope.

Reminds me I bet C S Lewis thought (and many others) that he
was a confirmed batchelor until God stepped in.

Debs: Have you read "And God came In"? It is an account of the
relationship between Joy Goodman and C S Lewis.

(The other one of course is Shadowlands).

I have not...but am writing down as we speak and will find it...thanks britty.......Did CS Lewis write both?

I think when God is ready for you to find your soulmate....It is done....So I always tell people to be patient...it won't ever happen on their time...only God's....

I always seem to have more than one favorite...

Books of the Bible.

I like John because it gives and intimate account of Jesus,
and contains the the prayer of Jesus to the Father, and
reveals His earnest desire that His follower's would know Him,
really know Him.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which
shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I
in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may
believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that
they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in
one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and
hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be
with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou
hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of
the world

Hebrews because I find it so encouraging. It contains quite a few of my favorite verses, one of them is:

Hebrews 11
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen.

In God's Time

Author: Unknown

"For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry" Hab. 2:3

Mercy may seem slow, but it is sure. The Lord in unfailing wisdom has appointed a time for the outgoings of His gracious power, and God's time is the best time. We are in a hurry; the vision of the blessing excites our desire, and hastens our longings; but the Lord will keep His appointments. He never is before His time; He never is behind.

God's word is here spoken of as a living thing which will speak, and will come. It is never a dead letter, as we are tempted to fear when we have long watched for its fulfillment. The living word is on the way from the living God, and though it may seem to linger, it is not in reality doing so. God's
train is not behind time. It is only a matter of patience, and we shall soon see for ourselves the faithfulness of the Lord. No promise of His shall fail; "it will not lie." No promise of His will be lost in silence; "it shall speak." What comfort it will speak to the believing ear! No promise of His shall need to be renewed like a bill which could not be paid on the day in
which it fell due -- "it will not tarry."

Come, my soul, canst thou not wait for thy God? Rest in Him and be still in unutterable peacefulness.
