I think this is the most light hearted subject in this whole religion topic. Thank God for that cause every other thread is like "grrrr you suck" and then "grrr, you suck more!" and its like "wtf! just respect each other jeeze people ahhh!"

I think a lot of us on this thread prefer a 'relationship' with God rather than a religion. We cannot change what was done in the past, and although it is good to be mindful of history dwelling on it will not help the present nor change the future. We can be firm in our beliefs in the way we try to conduct our own lives without imposing on other's equal rights.

I hope you will feel free to visit and post as you just did.

ok guys I need you big time right now. Some may know some may not. I work for the actor Tom Sizemore. You can google if you would like to know who he is if you don't already. He has done more then 72 movies. And is notorious for the Heidi Fliess Scandal here a few years ago.

As of 5:10 this evening Tom has been released from Prison. He has had a drug problem for the past 10 years or so and I need your help guys. I need prayer for Tom not to backslide back to the drugs. I would love prayer that if he gets ahold of anything that its taste foul that it makes him sick as a dog......I would also love prayer that the Lord God open Tom's heart that through Jesus is the only way to true fulfillment and happiness. Thanks guys this really means alot to me......and of course I will keep you updated.

Thanks Britty........This is major...and I know it's going to take every warrior on this one....Thanks guys alot....you don't even know how much this means to me.....The Lord has put me both in Tom's and Monroe is girls path for a reason. And I will do everything I can in the name of God for them both. As all can be done through His grace and mercy.

Barriers to God

The Master would insist that the final barrier to our attaining God was the word and concept "God."

This so infuriated the local priest that he came in a huff to argue the matter out with the Master.

"But surely the word 'God' can lead us to God?" said the priest.

"How can something help and be a barrier?"

I love coming here to see what everyone has had to say. I am a bit shocked that the majority of so-called "religion" topics are nothing but debates and arguments!! It seems that certain people even start topics just to have the "fun" of fighting with Christians about their beliefs! I have no time or patience to deal with that.

I, too, believe that the very, most important thing is a person's individual relationship with God, not religion.

Lord, I thank You for the Rev. Carl Black. He was a sinner and one of the worst from all accounts. He heard the gospel preached at the Mission in 1955. He accepted You as his savior and from then until now, he has worked to do Your will. Tonight, if he is not already dead, he is taking his last breaths. He has fought a good fight, he has stayed the course, he has won souls and overcome obstacles. The Mission is an answer to prayer. Carl’s passing is going to leave a terrific rent in the structure of the Mission. Lord, I ask that You provide the men to step forward and to do the work that the Rev. Carl Black was doing. There are not many who know the Bible as well as he does. He spent his entire adult life, working to bring the gospel message the lost men. Lord, I ask that his going to be with You in some way proves to do Your will. I ask that Your will be done with the Mission. I am thankful that Carl’s path and mine had a chance to cross here at the Mission. I thank You, Lord, for Carl and I now give him back to You. I ask that You send others who can do his work.
