I just spent the last freaking hour on the phone with my internet provider just for them to try to tell me that I need a new network card in my desktop. Because I could not connect to the internet. I was like OK then explain to me why I can not connect to the net on my laptop. I told him at the very beginning of the call that it said my IP address was lost. Just for him to tell me near the end of the call that the IP was lost on my laptop and needed to be fixed. It took him an hour just to tell me something I already told him. And then he still went on to try to tell me that my desktop needed a new network card. But yet I am back on line on both my desktop and my laptop. If it was somebody that was not knowledgeable with computers at all they would of went out and spent un-nessesary money they did not need to spend.

Go to the site and let them know what happened. In this day of Customer Service Improvement Initiatives, I'm sure they would like to know. I also encourage people to let them know when they get GOOD customer service!

internet providers can be stupid i had aol before and they told me that i didnt pay a bill for 4months when i had proof that i had paid the billgrumble grumble grumble

The title of this topic alone makes me agree with you lol. People are indeed stupid. I usually take it farther and call them moronic slime and other colorful things such as that.huh

I lost my internet explorer and got stuck in the idiot trap myself so i backed into my yahoo. now I don't have 7.o problems but the idiots are still circling the wagons!!

Next time with that problem,,,

go to start
click run
type cmd
a black box will appear
type this
ipconfig/release

itll release ur old/lost ip, and give u a new one after a reboot! it may take a few minutes though.

I worked as a Technical Support Agent for a DSL company for almost 4 years . It is really easy to be annoyed by some agents but you should keep in mind that most of these people are being paid just over minimum wage for an extremely stressful job . Most agents do NOT have the tools or training that they need to have in order to take calls but there on the floor anyway because turn over is extremely high in these call centers . There also being constantly pressured to move on to the next call . In the center I worked in you had 15 minutes to resolve the issue and move on to the next call on a Tier 1 level and you were allowed less time the further up the tiers you go .
The best time to call for technical support is at night thats when all the computer nerds work .
