Topic: Mutual Matches | |

I just came to the site with a bunch of other folks from another site where they had a 'Wink' feature...you could send a wink, a site provided flirt, to someone who caught your interest. A lot of folks thought it was a lame feature and refused to use it or respond to it, and a fatal rookie error if you used it. I'm wondering if that is how the mutual match feature is thought of here?

I'm from a site like that. and it was ok...no errors to it..If you like someone you should show it.

No I don't believe so. Some people like the feature and others don't care for it so much. It is a way to make contact with people that are in your search criteria. Any way....if they don't like it they don't have to use it. It takes both parties to agree before it is a "mutual" match.

lilbug
I think its kinda the same ....except either side of the mutual match can send or receive..seeing its a free site..there's no "members only can respond". |

ditto.. it seems every site has its do's and don't. itsown culture.. JSH is a fun house with sincere and engaging peeps.

mutual match is kinda dumb because somebody mutal matched me and i messaged them and they never even responded. why say yes to someone you're gonna be rude to and not even say hi back?

I don't think the mutual match works, I have had several say yes, but not one has answered after i sent them a message.

Thanks for your responses. Personally, I think if you chose to use the feature, anyone who e-mails you as a result of it is entitled to a response, it's just the nice thing to do. I think the feature is kind of cool ice-breaker.

I don't think there's any real stigma to the Mutual Match; it's just that a lot of people don't seem to understand how it works or what the notifications mean, when you get an e-mail saying "Someone wants to meet you on JSH," or how to follow up on that. There have been lots of questions, confusion, and the occasional infantile tantrum in the feedback section, etc., from people who have some problems with it.
In theory, if you're assuming a certain percentage of people who would like to express a sort of vague interest in another person, but are essentially too shy to come right out and say so, Mutual Match could be useful. Based on what I've seen in the forums, my impression is that most prople would prefer the admirer to just send them an e-mail already and get it over with, but then some just aren't that forward. For those people, I suppose Mutual Match is more comfortable than something like a "wink" or a "flirt" because those aren't at all anonymous. |
