Topic: Parting is such sweet sorrow... | |

When you are talking on the phone, saying your "good byes" , " good nights", etc... Who hangs up first? Do you quietly wait for for each other? Do you fall asleep with the phone still on your ear? Do you invent a chore just to excuse yourself from that little ache inside? Or keep them wanting more?
When you kiss each other good night, or have to head back home, etc....do you linger while a taxi waits? Do you tear yourself away or watch them go until they're long gone? You'll see them again anyway, right? |

I hang up first. I don't linger. He can't get enough of me.

I hang up first. I don't linger. He can't get enough of me. One point for purposely trying to keep them wanting more |

It depends. I think the protocol is that the person who calls is supposed to end the call. But, depending upon how well you know someone, friends can end a call when they have something to do.
No call can last forever!!! However, I can remember some that seemed to last for hours a long time ago. |

LOL...this is a good one!!
For me, it certainly depends on the person I am talking to. Sometimes lingering, sometimes saying goodbye/goodnight first and GET OUT. |

Actually, that would make a great topic. Red flag calls. Ha

With girlfriends I always let them do the hanging up and that seems like the best policy with insecure types, or it's the polite "nice guy" thing to do. I'm a talker and sometimes I'll keep doing a sort of Columbo and I'll start talking about something else after saying bye.
It does depend on the woman though. My last girlfriend never seemed comfortable talking on the phone and that made it a bit awkward and we didn't talk much on the phone. That can be a red flag thing in itself when it's like that. Some people just don't like to talk on the phone but it could mean that they aren't actually that into you, or don't have much time for you and you're just a booty call. |

Hang up first after saying a nice good bye because I don't want to sound desperate or needy.

It's usually a good sign if he leaves me wanting more. I never stay on the phone for very long. Why do that when we can see each other in person anyway?
