Topic: What do people really want from there partners | |
---|---|
People say what they want from their partner and when they get it. They sometimes can't handle it and get freaked out. Why is that?

you are so right, I see it all the time. Everybody says they want communication. Then when as soon as you say what you feel, they sometimes get defensive, even if it you say its not a big deal, i just wanted you know my feelings

I sometimes think you dont know what you want until you can experience the feeling. So people want what they dont have.

I guess it is part of learning, no one is perfect...dig deep, you might find they suffer issues that contributes to their downfall. It could be that they are not a fast learner as you. Oh it could be anything and its frustrating.

You ask why is that. It's because there not being honest with themselves on what they want. It's interesting being on the forums. People put themselves out to be more then what they are... Hell if I think about it, there is alot of people on here that have no clue on what they want and that is because there still searching for themselves. So if you have no idea on who you are, then how can you really know what you want?

I think alot of people really don't know what they want because they like shadow said have not truly found themselves. I was engaged 4 times and never went through with it. I met my husband and honestly I had a dream of us growing old together and sitting on the front porch in our rocking chairs smoking a doobie...lol Well I don't smoke anymore but 26 years later I can honestly say he is the man of my dreams, and yes it's not always perfect....but the bottom line is we love each other and the key is communication. And also read the book Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus........giggle.

Most good people want commitment, honesty, sincereity, loyalty,
reliability, respect, love, trust. All the good things. |

Wow, that is so true.
However, I don't think if I have ever gotten what I want. Wonder if I ever will. Sigh. What I want now is to go snuggle with my Monster and I'm gonna do just that. Hugs, M |

All I want from my partner is that she doesn't want anything from me.
If I ever find that we'll both be happy. |

speaking only from the male perspective and my personal experience: I have found that most people want everything that they do not have at the moment. Then, when they have that, they want something else that they do not have. people say that they want communication...what they mean is that they only want someone to listen to them and not disagree with them. They ask questions that they have already decided what the correct answer is...the only one they want to hear. They want love...means that they want to be loved and catered to, and not necessarily reciprocate. They want honesty...unless it concerns themselves...then they do not want to hear it. I am not bitter or anything...lol...just what I have observed in ppl over my life time of watching.

Seems most people know (or claim to) what they don't want as opposed to what they DO want....interesting..could it be a process of elimination perhaps?... I must confess, I find myself confused in certain situations, Is this for me?..Do I really want to do this?...I find that doing alot of inner introspection helps somewhat..but for me its experience..how do you know if it fits if you don't try it on?... but yeah, if can and is frustrating when some people claim they KNOW and say all the "right" things, only to discover that it wasn't so!...that is my pet peeeve and can't seem to wrap my mind around it...why are people afraid of just bringing their feelings, thoughts to the table up front?..Insecurity?..afraid of not being accepted?...ahh..so many questions and so few answers.... |
