I divorced almost 12 years ago, seven years ago I dated inter-racially. That was all new to me, but had a glorious time to know someone of another race that was their 1st time to date inter-racially also......I still date in and out of my race. What are your thoughts of doing the same?

What are your thoughts of doing the same? -------------------------------------------------- First off, I strongly recommend, the over 50 forum for, over 50 questions. Myself, I only date the two races, that I always have. However, I think your assessment is spot on, there is an increase in dateding outside of race, for over 50. I have seen it more & more often. It does not seem to be a more liberal view,( as younger people may assume), but rather... we don't have the things to worry about that we used to. Having kids, pleasing or listening to parents, peer pressure & opinion etc. There are lots of advantages to our age group. The best one being, we don't worry or care about the small sh@t, or opinions of others. So go for it.

I think its fun dating and learning about different cultures because women are beautiful in all nationalities, but I have a problem with the term interracial because it makes it sound like one is focused on just one kind of woman and it changes the fact that I am looking for someone who I care about as a person regardless of race.

Relax, people, relax. Let's not forget all the other races out there: Elves, dwarves, halflings, dark elves, orcs, ogres, trolls (ye gods, the trolls), and everything else that's after our hooman wimmenz for wining, dining, sexing, and eating. (And NOT in the fun way, so watch out, ladies!)
The lives of two inter-racial people who have chosen love (or at least a prolonged lust) over social conventions are worthy of our respect and admiration. The lives of their children, such as half-elves, half-orcs, and once even a half-dragon, are usually full of hate and scorn directed at them and their parents. I ask you to remember the lesson of Tanis Half-Elven who - though for most of his life was derided by both humans and elves for being "the other kind" - saved the world with the help of his Companions, and proved that there's nothing wrong with being the child of an inter-racial couple. And if there's nothing wrong with the children, how wrong can inter-racial dating be? |

OP,
I see four possible answers, either a person was much more willing to 'try' things or see things as cool and alright when younger and with experience, changed their minds,,, or one was willing to try things when younger and experience affirmed that it was the right thing or one thought an activity was wrong or whatver when they were younger and experience changed their minds or one thought an activity was wrong and experience affirmed that it was wrong I am amongst that second group when it comes to what they call 'interracial' dating, I had a 'why not' attitude when younger and a beautiful daughter later, I am even more affirmed that it is just as beautiful as any other hetero relations,,, |

Thirty years before my grandson was born, interracial dating was illegal...That got changed in 1967....My grandson was born in 1993...He lives in North Carolina...For him and the majority of his friends your question would seem strange, especially considering the fact that he and his friends just call it dating... |

No big deal... I have taken my date to the car races... Horse races.. Dog races... Even base ball and foot ball games... If both agree and have fun, who cares what you do!
