Topic: The Old Days | |
---|---|
I know I wasn't Born in these days but i still wanna know what happened to them.
The Days where a mans good word and a handshake is all you would need. When kids could play outside without bein takin. When Kids accually played outside When You didnt need a piece of paper from some school to get a job. When Mothers and fathers could spank their kids and not have the state get involved. When Mothers would cook a home cook meal and everyone would sit down at the table together. When you didnt make the team it was alright to get upset and try again next year. When people cared about their neighbors. What happen to parents teachin their kids manners and the kids accually respecting their parents??? Im a Southern Boy and will always be i Still say yes ma'am to my mother and yes sir to my Dad. I look around Wal-Mart at the kids runnin amuk like "damn if i did that i would get smacked right there in the store" but i know in my heart there are mothers and fathers honestly tryin to make their kids in to a Gentleman or a Country gal, but i feel like a dyin breed. Please let me know bout guys like me. |

Def. a dying breed... but growing up in Chicago, ya don't find many people with that downhome family attitude. As long as you instill your values into your children and they pass those values to theirs, you will never be extinct!
The world needs more "good 'ol Southern boys... but that's just my opinion. |

I raised my sons to always be respectful and polite. They would not have gotten smacked in the store, all I had to give them was "the look" and they knew they better QUIT whatever they were doing. I am happy to say, they are warm, loving, and I know I did a great job.
I agree with singing...definately a dying breed. |

The Ole Days hasnt gone anywhere. I got 3 kids, when we go to Wal-Mart, they never once ask for a toy, hell, I bet ya they cant even find the toy department. They get what they need to live, toys, makeup, ect is a privelage. aslong as there good, rewards come of it. Mine however are very respectful, and will say yes/no sir/mam to a 18 year old.

Unfortunatly you guys are a dying breed. Guys like you are hard to find. I plan to teach my children(in my classroom, next year hopefully, I don't actually have kids) to treat others with respect. It comes down to respect.
