i already see it as a vast improvement...8.1 seemed sloppy and hurried, where 10 looks like they put a lot of thought into it...

I received and registered my request for the free upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 last Monday, ready for downloading on the day of release. It seems as though Microsoft are upgrading their customers in the US first, since I have not heard from them yet here in the UK.

they have been saying the release date was the 29th, but i guess someone has to wait, since there is going to be a few billion downloads...

Just received an email from Microsoft regarding my reserved upgrade to Windows 10, see part print below. I am not really in any rush so I shall wait until notified.

I've upgraded, a lot of new junk on it. Things they want you to pay to use. Two new browsers but I prefer Chrome. They make you set their browser as default but opt out of that. The new browser is no better than what I already have and a pill to set up the way your old one looks but doable. Their must have/can't alter MSN page is a ugly as ever... can not customize. The only thing I do like about it is the new start button, I have pinned things there rather than take up my start screen lol My preferred windows was xp, very simple to use and no longer supported. To date on the new program have not found out how to organize my photos, but I'm sure I will find out online soon as Google is my best friend. Read all about the windows programs on PC Magazine where they review all new pc products of importance. Microsoft will eventually demand that all computers have this new program eventually of course

Thanks Kandy for the review. I have 2 on both computers and like it but there's this little icon that's been popping up offering a free upgrade to 10. I've been hesitant but not I think I'm just going to wait.

be sure and turn all the privacy settings off, otherwise Microsoft will store all your info with it...

I'm having some problems updating my windows from 8.1 to 9. Does anyone know what the issue is with a PC? Need help.

There is no windows 9 it's now windows 10 and so not worth it. I installed it on my cp and had nothing but trouble so I went back to my previous windows I had.

I've had W10 for a couple of weeks now. The OS works very well. The only thing I didn't like was nosey Cortana. I've turned as much of her off as I can. I'm still trying to find a way to stop Cortana from running in memory. I will eventually figure it out.

Right now I am using Chrome and I have it set as my default browser. I'm also using another program called "Classic Shell" It makes Windows 8.1 and 10 look like W7. It's a neat little program. It gives the user a start button and menu just like W7.

Also, You don't have to wait for your upgrade if you don't want to. It's best for most people to make a copy of the OS. That way you can reload the OS if something happens to go wrong. Like a really bad infection. Here is where to get it without having to wait,

July 29th came and gone and I waited and waited and waited and I finally just decided to download it from that link about 10 days later. Burned the ISO to a DVD and installed it off the DVD. Once installed, I got my Windows Registration Key and wrote that down, so if I ever run in to trouble and have to do a clean install, I can install it from the DVD again. I created a boot disk in the event I have to do a clean install of Windows 10.

I like it so far. It boots faster than Windows 7 ever did.

As I said above, It runs well on mine. But for the past three days I have fought with it on another computer. It keeps downloading the OS, but with no license key. It keeps trying to make me pay for the key. It will not activate without it. I'm lost.
