All Religions are the same
There are two meanings of Islam in Quran;
First: Islam in general, means worshipping Allah alone without attributing any equals to Him. This meaning includes all teaching conveyed by the prophets and contained in all Holy Books He had descended.
Allah decreed;
''Indeed We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted (to Allah) judged by it for the Jews.''
Allah termed the prophets of the offsprings of Israel by 'Islam', which indicated that Islam is not solely related to the teaching of Prophet Muhammad.
Every human being will receive a security of happiness in Hereafter, if he embraces Islam as his religion. One will be dubbed as embracing Islam if he follows the guidance of the prophet who was sent to him.
''And (mention) the Day He will call them and say, ''What did you answer the messengers?''
Allah will ask mankind at the Day of Resurrection, about their respond to the prophets whom was delegated to them. Did they believe in them, and follow their guidance, or did they objected to and set war against them?
Second: Islam in particular, refers to the religion brought by Prophet Muhammad.

I believe that religion was meant to teach love and peace, regardless of the religion.

It seems it guides some people to anything but.

I've never had much chance to debate religion with so called religious people, not in such numbers anyway, not until I joined Mingle.

Having joined Mingle and often looked in on the religious threads I'm amazed by how many religious people are bigoted in their beliefs.

From racists to the anti gay lobby to the anti Islam brigade to the closet anti Jew glitterati.

If there is a God, I'm sure he'd be disgusted by some of the comments from some of his flock of earthly angels.

Too often, many are only conscience of any spiritual hope only while lying on their death-beds.
