Personally, i'm pretty introverted. It's very hard for me to strike up a conversation with a member of the female persuasion. So when I do, and get no answer, it's not easy. Then I hear on here that "if you would have asked me". Why can't you ask men? We are all on here for the same reason..........

You have to develop a thicker skin for online dating and try not to take it too personal if you don't get response back but move on to a new one..me? I am so picky its not even funny. If it looks like cut and paste job he sends out to everyone? Nope. If he did not bother read my profile?Nope. scammer? Nope. pervert? Nope

Being bold, unless you're active in the formums 99% of the people men/woman will take one look at a pic and decide THEN if they are interested enough to read your profile.

Of course if your active in thr forums you get a chance to showcase your personality a lot more, and people get a chance to know you before automatically passing on a photo

And I agree with not being a sidelines player - man up, take your heart off of your sleeve, and step in to the ring!

You give it your best shot and if you lose on the score card, take a rest for round two and come out swingin.! (Not literally - you don't wanna go about hitting women).

But go at this with the knowledge that just because someone says hi to you, or engages you in conversation, it doesn't equate to come over and lemme drop my drawers for ya! Even instant attraction doesn't always pan out.

You can't wring love from a turnip (or a woman...you can from us men but it requires copious amounts of sex and compliments regarding our prowess, masculinity, with a few "it's the biggest I've ever seen" thrown in - stated convincingly of course).

ON THE FLIP SIDE OF THE COIN:

Be bold in taking a chance on someone you maybe wouldn't in "real life".

We've all had bad relationships with our "ideals" and have fruitlessly looked for love, not in all the "wrong" places but, in all our usual places! Look somewhere different! Look at someone "outside the box"!

Give them an opportunity to express themselves and converse with another human being! Don't discount them arbitrarily. Most people who are alone have a strong desire to just be "known" to someone. Someone to listen to them, be concerned about them. Help them thrive!

Sometimes you wind up nurturing a flower into bloom for some else to pick and enjoy (you pretty lil gardeners you!).

What have you got to lose? You can't say time because you are already loitering here. And there are ways to end all contact with those who fail to accept rejection well.
