Boldness! Not only is life too short to be lonely - it is too short to be a coward! Love! (My opposite to this is indifference - so no frown lines there  ) And I agree with not being a sidelines player - man up, take your heart off of your sleeve, and step in to the ring! You give it your best shot and if you lose on the score card, take a rest for round two and come out swingin.! (Not literally - you don't wanna go about hitting women). But go at this with the knowledge that just because someone says hi to you, or engages you in conversation, it doesn't equate to come over and lemme drop my drawers for ya! Even instant attraction doesn't always pan out. You can't wring love from a turnip (or a woman...you can from us men but it requires copious amounts of sex and compliments regarding our prowess, masculinity, with a few "it's the biggest I've ever seen" thrown in - stated convincingly of course). ON THE FLIP SIDE OF THE COIN: Be bold in taking a chance on someone you maybe wouldn't in "real life". Again, not only is life too short to be lonely - it is too short to be a coward! We've all had bad relationships with our "ideals" and have fruitlessly looked for love, not in all the "wrong" places but, in all our usual places! Look somewhere different! Look at someone "outside the box"! Give them an opportunity to express themselves and converse with another human being! Don't discount them arbitrarily. Most people who are alone have a strong desire to just be "known" to someone. Someone to listen to them, be concerned about them. Help them thrive! Sometimes you wind up nurturing a flower into bloom for some else to pick and enjoy (you pretty lil gardeners you!). What have you got to lose? You can't say time because you are already loitering here. And there are ways to end all contact with those who fail to accept rejection well. WHEW! Did you read all that? If you did - wanna be my girlfriend? If you didn't - wanna be my girlfriend?  BE BOLD! LOVE! I have to shout it out...I AGREE WITH EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY WORD OF THAT ^^^^^ POST.....!!!! and now I feel like dancin....

 I too consider myself a lover not a hater.  However, there certainly are times when it seems the guys are put off by me being the one to say something first. I don't always, but most times.

I have to say it too....regularfeller NAILED IT!!!! I too consider myself a lover not a hater. However, there certainly are times when it seems the guys are put off by me being the one to say something first. I don't always, but most times. Forget that noise and BOOGIE!

Be bold How "bold" exactly? If I try to show how strong my physical attraction is to a woman on the first date by "boldly" going for it, thinking if I just kiss her, touch her, hug her, hold her, fondle her, she can tell how important and wonderful she is, despite her protestations which are just misunderstandings until I can clearly explain by my actions...is that okay? When should I stop being bold? Should I wake up my girlfriend at 12, 2, and 3 in the morning so we can boldly make love before her big meeting at 6? Just telling me to "be bold" helps not at all. Love or hate... Dont care! What does this mean? You don't care if someone loves you or hates you? You don't care how people are going to respond to your thread so you will never read this and I should just stop typing? Love and hate have causes, effects, and purposes to human existence. Just like every other judgment and emotion. |
