Topic: Rebel, rebel ... | |

Most of us seem to be reasonably sane people ... But what about your late teens and early twenties?
Did you rebel, turn into a pot-smoking hippie, living the Cheech & Chong life-style? ... Or maybe you were a pissed off Goth, dressed in black, revering Marilyn Manson ... Did you have a mohican? Or shave your head instead? A shaved tribal? (LOVE those!) ... Someone must have stalked through the streets with safety pins through the ears. Was it you? How did you rebel? Or didn't you ... until you hit 30 ... 40 ... or 50? |

I am a goody goody. I got cornrow braids once. That was cool. I may post a pic if I ever find it.
I did shave my head but that was an early midlife crisis. I thought it would be symbolic to starting fresh in my life. |

I waited until I was 40 to rebel.
Then I went all out. Got a full body wax. Yup...went kinda wild for a bit there. |

I guess I'm still rebelling! I still do all of the first 3 listed and I'm in my 30's...
Ohhhh that explains some stuff! |

Lol, must have been wild indeed... the wax being ripped off excruciating, then the soft feel of baby skin, but then 1-2 days later itching all over ... Oh and stubble, lol. Yup, totally wild! Nuts actually |

What can I say?
40 years of pent up rebellion, coming out in one afternoon of total mayhem. We're all still waiting for your story, Crystal. |

Good student good girl that looked like heavy metal chic with big hair, black boots, ripped jeans,ac/dc shirt, big hoop ear rings and black trench coat ^^^ This. Picking our own clothes & hairstyles was considered a rebellion in my family. * WRONG things for parents to worry about out there * |

Me?
I don't think I started to rebel until I was about 35 - 40. Finally feeling confident enough about myself to do and wear whatever I wanted. I also had my then long hair cut short. VERY short. And yeah, that was after my divorce. I needed to make a statement I guess. That I was 'me'. Did look good as well, but I prefer it a bit longer now. When younger, I never wore something out of the ordinary. Now I do. I'm a rock & goth chic. Suits me down to the ground. Most ppl that know me wouldn't expect that of me, and I like it that way I remember when I was teaching English at a very strict Christian school. There was me, practicing witchcraft in my free time, having lots of kinks, and living them too, a preference for goth & rock outfits. If only they had known that their average looking & behaving teacher was way different when not at work. Still makes me giggle (They would've sacked me on the spot. THey were very strict.) |

My waxing suddenly seems very mundane.
May have to run with scissors today. Release my inner wild child. |

My waxing suddenly seems very mundane. May have to run with scissors today. Release my inner wild child. Or shave the mustache? THAT would be a statement! *Quickly leaves the room, feels his Taurus temper flare up now* |

Looking back I wonder how I actually made it thru those years alive.
We thought we were indestructible . Surfing subway cars, taking swan dives off of the shipping piers in the Hudson River, all kinds of wood floating under the surface of the water.. Getting high most every night. Constantly being chased by the cops for some shenanigans. crazy stuff |
