Are you proud of your continent?

Well, I like my country...I never really gave much thought about the continent. I never recall saying.. I'm from North America. I know Europeans do and so do folks from Africa.. but that sounds right.

Saying Hi, I'm from North America just doesn't sound right.

laugh true

USA all the way and yes I am proud to be an American....I suppose I am also proud to be N American....whateverflowerforyou

In the last century, when I lived in Alaska and they were building the pipeline, there were a lot of Texans whose heads were too big for their 10 gal hats and they were the bunt of everyone elses jokes (the ones whose heads WEREN'T too big repeated them too). One I will always remember was when a Texan was bragging too much you'd look at him and say Keep it up and we'll divide THIRD largest state. I finally settled in Arkansas. I too thought this post was going to be about country living (every political country has physical country and we country folks can survive, we have a commonality that draws us together rather than political country that separates.) Arkansas is frequently the butt of jokes but I have adopted it as my home. As our state song says, Arkansas, You Run Deep in Me!!!

Nope I have seen your posts.. You are just keeping it locked up safe and sound til you find a place worthy enough to let it settle in...

I love Alaska but Oregon will always have a huge part of my heart...
Alaska you either love it or hate it. I haven't found many inbetween...

My continent is Europe. Yes, I am very happy to be European, but I don't feel a connection with Eastern European countries. Some are more like 3rd world countries. They are very different, very very poor, totally different cultures. To me those countries feel more like another world or continent.
So I guess for me it's more Western Europe. But yeah, I'm danged happy to be European!

Well,, let's see... My ancestors are Scottish, English, Welsh, French, French Canadian, Canadian Indian, and American Indian Cherokee, we think). I was born in Texas, only lived there for 2 years as my Dad was military. When to high school in Wyoming,, NY, and England. Moved every two sometimes three years. I have lived in Illinois since 1988. I love my country, have driven thru most of it, excepting Alaska, which I would love to see. But, I don't know precisely where I am from, lol..

Why should I be proud of where I live? I had nothing to do with developing it. I have lived in 4 different states in the USA and has nothing to do with who I am.
