Topic: But I have papers...... | |
---|---|
You meet someone. The two of you hit it off....things are great....about five dates in and you are thinking that this one could be a good catch. And then you find out....they have papers. They were institutionalized for depression, or suicide watch...something to that effect. Would this change things for you and the relationship? What if Mingle2 is an institution and everyone here is institutionalized? Now I'm thinking about that movie 12 Monkeys. Oh no....what if Mingle 2 was set up by the NSA to monitor all us crazies? |

You meet someone. The two of you hit it off....things are great....about five dates in and you are thinking that this one could be a good catch. And then you find out....they have papers. They were institutionalized for depression, or suicide watch...something to that effect. Would this change things for you and the relationship? There are too many factors to answer this cut and dried. How long ago were they on a suicide watch??? How are they today??? Are they striving to be in a better place.. Nothing is ever cut and dried for me.. I have to have more info... You will take cut and dried and like it. And when has that ever worked for you with me??? Stinker that is why I adore you so much Okay....just for you....let's say that this person was institutionalized five years ago. They were and still take meds, but they do not see a therapist every week. They are doing well and seem well adjusted. They were hesitant about saying something to you but they didn't want to hide it. Then I would commend them on their bravery to stay and fight in this world and are continually striving to overcome their issues. I would also do an inner search of myself to see if I could handle it and knowing me I would go for it. Each one of us has scars from life if we choose to live it. We learn and go forward... I know I do and I know if I would go for it.. I would value the person more because they chose to be honest with me. Thank you Goof love ya sweety... |

back in the day... if you had papers that would be a good thing...lol Just what I was thinking ... My girl is studying real hard to get her papers... but I guess that's not really a good thing anymore ... And I was so happy she finally started studying!! She's studying psychology & science... would that help? |

I'd be very reluctant about dating someone with that kind of papers ...
I've paid my dues. 10 years with a narcissist should be enough to tide me over for at least another 4 lives without having fruitcakes prey on me. |

Certainly it'll change the way I view them. However, the relationship remains the same. We will take turns watching each other.

Mmmmmm depression and suicide watch would kinda fall into self harm? Or am I wrong? Surely it's not as bad as attempted murder or having bodies under the patio lol.... And I would think that relationships are like plants? In so much as they need TLC and nurturing in order to stop them wilting and dying? Sometimes the best things in life take a little extra commitment and sacrifice too :) So... 'NO' It would not change anything :) Dead bodies eh? Gotta watch out for those hot, sexy chicks who wield an axe. |

in all honesty? depends on what they were diagnosed with..
depression? pfffft everyone and their mother seems to be on pills for that one anymore at least here in states.. but if it were something like: bi-polar ( yikes) schizophrenia personality disorder anxiety to point of not being able to leave house and the list goes on and on.. I would have to carefully consider my next move |

I don't do well with mentally unstable people. It might be a deal breaker depending on the situation (ie, how long ago and what for)

I don't do well with mentally unstable people. In that case, perhaps you shouldn't attend any meeting of Mingle2 members. |
