October 31st Samhain will be upon us atlast! This might sound bad but Samhain has always been my favorite holiday. Even when i was stricly crishtain and long before i became a practicing pagan.
What do you guys like most about Samhain or rather whats your favorite Sabbat or Esbat or genrally any holiday for that matter?

I love it too!
I’m not a pagan or anything, but I love the whole atmosphere that comes along with the holiday and in upstate NY (where I’m from, in VA now), October is absolutely beautiful, and it all meshes so well.

Wish I was there for it this yearfrown

Samahin, October, fall in NY..ahhh such blessings bestowed upon me

Fall is my favorite season, and Samhain my favorite "holiday", always was even before I was Wiccan. What I like most about it is the small dinner I have, a few friends from a far gather each year at my home, no matter where it may be, and we do our thing, magically speaking, and we dine on sumptuous harvest foods, reflecting back on the past year since we last were together, chattering about whats new and whats not, simply enjoying each others company.

Halloween is my favorite as well- for me because it has no tension or obligations associated with it... just dress up or not as you like, have fun and go out with friends.

No obligation to call certain family members who will then complain about whoever has not called, no buying presents that may not be appreciated, no rushing around cooking- just have fun.... my family tends toward the ultra competitive and guilt drenching...

So... Ahh Halloween... What a great holiday bigsmile bigsmile bigsmile

And I do love to dress up and roam the streets...

lizardking19,

You previously said that you only believe in things which are real. You had some really harsh words for anyone with "faith". So you much have absolute proof that magic exists, right? There is a million dollar paranormal challenge given by James Randi, I think you should apply since you only believe in things that are real and of which you have proof.

Here is the sign up form, good luck man!

yes spider i dont believe in god however i do use chaos magick which unlike any things i have seen within normal religion WORKS if i had not results in the past i would not practice

also (at least with good magick) when it works it may seem like a good coincidence, like nudging probability
and samhein rituals are almost pureley intrinsic

lizardking19,

So because you haven't experianced God, you don't believe in God? Have you looked for God? God only shows himself to those who seek Him diligently. If you really commit yourself to finding God, you will find Him. Just something to think about.

I dont think there is a god, i think there a forces on different planes of existence which may (occassionally) influence humans
and yes i am aware that i called church "a primitive ritual" and i never claimed my magick was anything but primitive
I really think magick is an unaccepted undeveloped branch of physics

And actually about finding god, wicca says almost the same thing about finding the goddess/green man within ones self
i am not a wicca, as i said i use chaos magick, the purpose of which is to shift ones perception of outer planes not connect with ones "inner god" which is what white lighters focus on

Its true. magick can be both a religon and an occult science that uses psychocdrama to type into the 90% of our brain that remains inactive.
What i mean by that is that normal people on average only uese 10% of their brain so 90% of it doesnt get used. People who have telekines and telepathy and other powers are people who either are born using acsess to the other 90% of their brain or are people who have trained themselves to tape into that unused part of it.

Magick rituals allow us to tape into that unused part of our minds and create change in our lives and the lives of others. Of course if you study magick as a reigon as i do then some might not see any science to it but i see both and believe in both parts. if that makes any since.
