Tanning isn't as unhealthy as it used to be. We have a salon and run UVA & UVB beds that aren't any less harmful than being in the sun. The new beds are sooooooooooo much different than the old harsh light beds. Infact, people with S.A.D.S disease, fiber myalgia (sp?) ecxema, and other skin disorders are being directed from their doctors to tan to help their conditions!

Oh and yeah, I tan too nurjoyce  I always feel better afterwards. But I only tan once ever 2 weeks to maintain my tan because thats all that is required in our beds

For me, tanning would be redundant.

LOL, yeah I've heard of black people tanning, too. There was a family in a magazine that have a tanning bed in their basement. I don't get it either. :)

A tan is a sign of sun damage from UV rays - it is your body's way of protecting itself ... there is no such thing as a safe tan... the tan you get in a salon is no different than a tan you get by the pool ...

I like the look of a tan and I did tan a bit when I was younger ... but I have made peace with the fact that I am as white as a chicken laugh
