Really the only good that has come from it is that there are no such thing as "pre-existing conditions." These were common reasons that were used not to pay for legitimate procedures. I remember my brother having to pay out of pocket when his wife's gall bladder exploded. Since it ruptured before she went to the hospital, it was considered "pre-existing" and therefor wasn't covered.
As far as it being a tax for entitlements, your right. Most of what our govt. pays for are entitlements - Boeing, Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics are prime examples of this. |

I agree, but even that is not w/o a big price tag as the tradeoff is higher insurance rates for less coverage...And yeah, as usual Alle is right, it's basically a tax on 'high' earners that mandates individuals obtain health coverage or pay a fine which is unconstitutional...Along with this, the ACA has compromised medicare in such a way as to leave millions without coverage and force doctors to downgrade patient care by increasing patient load in an effort to offset lost revenue needed to maintain their practices...Employer mandates have created higher operating costs resulting in job and hour cutbacks which puts another strain on the economy...Minimum coverage can only be obtained during open enrollment which forces those who miss the deadline to face penalties AND go w/o insurance until the next open enrollment, again unconstitutional...Maintaining the ACA long term is cost prohibitive...And these are just some of the more obvious problems...So in answer to your question, the way in which it is written makes Obama Care a very bad thing for our country...You also ask who benefits most...That would be young healthy adults and seniors and ONLY in terms of reduced cost and even that comes at the expense of quality care.... |

Very little to actually do with health care. And, the miniscule portion of the health care bill, that has anything to do with healthcare, is a boon to the insurance industry. |
