If Pop Francis walk up today and decided for the church that all Catholic "monks" should start having children, what would be your reaction?

Depends on if he says it ex cathedra

Okay, TB Rich has made the reference to the Pope as 'ex cathedra', which I'm assuming is 'no-longer-seated'.

A Cardinal or a Bishop mite very-well be differently opinionated so-long as they're not the Pope. But, the opportunity to hold the office and not have some opinion seems unlikely.

I think it's important to note that the very concept of Monistic life for men and women is also a latter Church idea. There is absolutely no reference to any 'Monastic Orders' in the Bible.

"From the chair or throne" this is the only time the pope is considered to be infallible by doctrinal law; this however has only been evoked three times in the history of the papacy and were all basically in reference to Mary

In conversations with Xians, I find most of them deny the Matthew verse you quoted- I often ask them why would I convert to a faith that wants me to cut my penis off? Isn't this another contradiction from "be fruitful and multiply"?

I don't believe Catholicism to be a denomination of Christianity... But I have been taught before that Catholicism is the universal religion, and that it includes Christians...

True, a denomination would imply a branch of a previously existing Church.

So, which 'Church' has the claim to Apostolic Succession. (Being The First)

The Western Roman Catholic...?

The Eastern Greek Orthodox...?

Or the Southern Egyptian Coptic?

All claim Apostolic Succession !

I honestly don't know... They didn't teach nor touch that topic that in the catholic school I attended... They just said that basically all religion who acknowledges Jesus and God is under the Vatican (Catholicism) and that the pope is the divinely appointed successor of Peter....

I have long since unsubscribe to that belief...ohwell

You're not the only one, I was raised Catholic myself.

Eight years of catechism and served as an Altar Boy for years.

The celibacy requirements, however, are not based on the Bible. Early priests were allowed to marry, but many early priests were involved in widespread debauchery that is quite kinky even by today's standards. The Pope at the time (I'm no historian of the Catholic Church, so I don't know which Pope) over corrected by imposing absolute celibacy.

What exactly did this debauchery and kinkiness involve?

Were any animals harmed in foreplay?

Yahshua came the Religious leaders wanted to be the authority on the scriptures and not the word itself. That's why they constantly tried to trick him but he just used the word. "It is written" The Holy Spirit came to free us from these leaders who corrupt the word. The problem the religious leaders do not believe the Holy Spirit can work in any person who has the desire to learn. You must follow their doctrine. Thus it makes the word of Yahweh of no effect.

The Desire to search and find with desire his truths he promises you will find . My Sheep Hear my voice another they will not follow.

Follow the word. Not the man or religion with a Pure Heart. The Psalmists says he will not dispise the contrite and Broken Heart.

The beginning of wisdom.

Study to show yourself approved. It is all their as in no other time in History. You must want to learn. It is a way of Life.

Yahshua said He was the Way the Truth and the Life. Just follow his words. He was perfect and Math. says Be you perfect as My Father in Heaven is perfect.
Try. As a child is pleasing to a parent when they see them try to do as they do so is Yahweh pleased when he sees you try as yahshua showed us.

he is our example for a reason. The churches are not our example

I think it would be absolutely amazing!!!
There is a major shortage of Catholic priests in my area and letting them get married and have children, in my own opinion, would help us out tremendously!!
It takes a special man to be a priest, infact, i hope one of my two sons (both would be awesome too) would become a priest....yet, i would love grandchildren too!!

Having been raised in a very strict Roman Catholic household, and endured the full eight years of Catechism, and served for several years as an Altar Boy with a Mon senior and Cardinal Flaff (Now Likely Passed), I want all Catholics to know... Celibacy, is a Papal Decree, and it can be revoked.

Here's a little known fact... Ukrainian Catholic Priests have ALWAYS been allowed to get married, if they so chose.

Again, by Vatican Decree !

ok first, I admit I don't know much about biblical quotes.
but in the beginning, God created Adam and Eve, thus establishing that humans are meant to be in pairs.

furthermore, I believe Eastern Orthodox churches encourage priests to marry.

True, the Eastern Orthodox congregations do condone letting Priests get married, but they don't take any orders from the Vatican.

The Synod of Eastern Orthodox Churches exists as a separate group of 'would-be' claimers to Apostolic Succession.
