Topic: Paying taxes is for Republicans | |
---|---|
Business reporter Elizabeth MacDonald has written a column in which she names people who were prosecuted by the U.S. government for failing to pay taxes.
MacDonald writes, "It's an open secret in Washington, DC and among IRS revenue agents and auditors that the IRS's decentralized operation often results in disparate treatment of taxpayers." So, while the U.S. government doesn't go after Al Sharpton for failing to pay taxes, it did go after Doug Pielsticker, the former CEO of Arrow Trucking. A news report about his prosecution states, "Prosecutors said Pielsticker and his co-conspirator failed to pay the government the federal income taxes withheld from Arrow's employees in 2009." Of course, Al Sharpton must be exempt from prosecution because ... because ... You tell me why. |

You tell me why. define 'go after' and then seek out their personal auditors to get the details of what activity has gone on between them and the government regarding their accounts Im not privy to that info, although it is reported that Sharpton is has negotiated a payment plan,,,something I know can be done with taxes and student loans,,,lol perhaps this person can negotiate , or perhaps they have already been offered the chance and did not... |

Dodo, just because someone owes back taxes doesn't mean they are going to jail. Just like if Obama is impeached doesn't mean that he will be thrown out of office. Besides, if he Sharpton had a "Get out of jail Card", he would have given it to Jesse Jackson Jr. |

I'll try to find the report I read recently from the NYT or Post that stated while Sharpie swears he doesn't owe any taxes (and individual tax files are confidential) the public records on the IRS website show that he owes $3.3 to $3.7M in unpaid taxes that remain unsatisfied on the books..... both state and federal In an additional statement he said something along the lines of "every time there's a Ferguson he attends his tax records come up" Gee..... I wonder why Here's a sampler: As Sharpton Rose, So Did His Unpaid Taxes http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/19/nyregion/questions-about-al-sharptons-finances-accompany-his-rise-in-influence.html?_r=0 He's also back-peddling on a public statement he made about "borrowing" $200K from his action network to fund his daughters college tuitions....... then he found out it was illegal, even criminal to do so..... OOPS! In most states if you owe taxes you can't even get a drivers lisence or start/run a business So what makes this ambulance chaser so special? |

Besides, if he Sharpton had a "Get out of jail Card", he would have given it to Jesse Jackson Jr. Give it to Jesse Jackson?.. he would have sold it to Jesse Jackson.. cash... no paper trail. |
