Hotdogs and donuts .. Laughing What about the Texas Steaks that are as big as Toilet-seats?(that's still only Medium-size) |

From visiting other websites , I gathered the general consensus that we are a bunch of rich , spoiled brats that always demand we get our way.... or else. The truth is hardly that way , most of us have to find a decent job , work hard and live our lives with that line of thought if we wish to do well, or pretty much survive . In this thread, I'd like to get the opinions of different cultures than our own and see what the rest of the world truly thinks of us We are definitely NOT the center of the universe . Screw the rest of the world! so,you're one of those Guys? A Scotsman walking through a field, sees a man drinking water from a pool with his hand. The Scotsman man shouts ' Awa ye feel hoor thatοΏ½s full OοΏ½ coos Sharn' (Don't drink the water, it's full of cow s ** t.) The man shouts back 'I'm English, Speak English, I don't understand you'. The Scotsman man shouts back 'Use both hands, you'll get more in!!!! Hey Sonny,I ain't no American! |

Wow....This thread has been enlightening...I wonder if the OP will RE activate and contribute even more critiques...I don't like to assume, but I'm assuming by America he means the United States of....What an amazing country! ...Diverse, rich in natural resources, still free, still putting other countries first even though we should be putting ourselves first, still changing the guard every four to eight years, still welcoming the masses of immigrants who come here looking for a better life...With all her faults and all the one sided criticism, I gotta say there is no place like home ...Stars and Stripes Forever!

The USA is the greatest country on earth now. This comes with responsibility. It has a disproportionate amount of natural resources and uses more than the rest combined. That is well and good. In the past people admired this country genuinely but these days it's more feared and hated. The USA used to use its soft power of diplomacy to help the rest of the world but this changed with the mantra it's either with us or we bomb you. The world has diverse people's and cultures and nobody not even the mighty USA will change the citizens of the world into its likeness. It's time the USA accepted unity in diversity. ummm....we send billions of dollars every month to almost every country to help them out (even countries that hate us) and no other countries send us money back,so how is America a "me,me,me..." type of country?if we were one,we'd be smart and be out of debt before the end of the year |

Yeah .. but this is just another great example ... and don't take this personal, as it ain't. But most Americans don't know the first thing about other countries, just think theirs is so great and brilliant, rave about having freedom, apparently assuming no other country in the world has freedom? Wonderful you feel proud of your country, but that does NOT make it better than any other country! Base it on facts, not fiction, ignorance and arrogance. I think most have this attitude cos of your fight to break free from England long long time ago. And hooray for you for succeeding. But still doesn't make you or your country better than us / ours. Many of you look down on other countries, and esp Europe (and Canada), not something to be proud of if you ask me. Yet you do have these medieval festivals, which are European medieval festivals... You despise Europe and Europeans, yet you use our history for your entertainment? You got chitloads of problems with poverty, don't even have decent health care, ppl walk around with guns everywhere, and you got a major black & white problem, to name just a few. Having lots of resources can be great, but also an means to manipulate other countries and the balance of power in the world, in your favour. You're also the home of Big Pharma, Codex Alimentarius etc etc etc, organizations that are quite successfully ruining life as we know it and our world, just to gain power and wealth. So before you pat yourself on the back, first make sure you know how other countries are organized, what they have and consider to be normal, that you don't. I live in a country with one of the world's best healthcare and well-fare systems, what you got in the US doesn't strike me as wonderful. We also get lots and lots of immigrants, all western European countries do btw.. So that doesn't make you special either. And again, I don't mean this as a personal attack, most of you Americans here are lovely people. That's why I normally don't answer these questions either, cos of their awkwardness. But American arrogance and often even ignorance can be very irritating. To give another example of this ignorance: My daughter got asked by her hairdresser if we even had electricity in the Netherlands! FFS!!! |

You've all got European backgrounds anyway! Try and deny it? My mum has an antique plate that's older than your country, as it's from 1748!!

Well if it's not personal, why quote me?....Here's the thing you're missing Crystal...I don't see Americans starting threads designed to criticize yours or any other country...Threads started specifically for the purpose of bad mouthing my country do pizz me off and rightly so...And a big PS sister, I do know a thing or two about other countries and THE ONLY time you or anyone else will hear me bad mouthing them is when I'm defending erroneous BS being said about the US...I'm not spoiled, lazy, ignorant or arrogant and I don't think it's fair of you to even insinuate it, especially here on the boards where anyone and everyone can read it...Most posters know me, but those who don't because they are new might get the wrong impression thanks to your harsh (and unnecessary to making your point) words... |
