I don't think that there is a "heaven" or a "hell"... I can't be sure of course because I have no memory of having died before.

But I like to think that there are lots of places to go, many things to see and do... it's all good and it's all bad...

Life is full of surprises- where we go next is maybe the best surprise yet.

It would be nice if we see/know/contact the people that we love in this life in the next as well... it there really are "soul mates"...

It might be fun if next time I am pure thought, or pure energy... hmmm...

But I can wait to see what's next, I don't want to be done here yet!!

I can only speak for myself, but I’m not tempted by evil things. On the contrary I find good things to be much more tempting. flowerforyou

Heaven is a place where there is no sorrow, pain, hate, anger. Where you will never get hungry again, where your family and friends are, but most importantly it's where our savour is.

Hell is what the bible describes of a pit of eternal agony, one that you can not phantom of. Hell is where you will always be screaming for mercy but never find it.

I will take heaven any day of the week, and I can not wait to see Jesus and thank him for dying for my sins. flowerforyou

Blueeyedtexan,

"Where you will never get hungry again"

adj4u,

Satan fell because of pride. Because he had the choice between good and evil and he choose evil. That doesn't mean that heaven isn't perfect, it means that Satan made a conscience decision to disobey God.

Satan is just a metaphor for the ego.

All the rest is Greek Mythology.

Er,... I mean, Middle Eastern Mythology. laugh

Neither of the 2 places have ever been proven to exsist, but in my mind, hell would look like the inside of a wood stove in full flame, and heaven, well, does anyone really qualify to go to heaven ? I doubt it...

Not knowing what the qualifications are I can’t say. But if you ask me if anyone 'deserves' to go to heaven I can only say that I’ve known quite a few people who deserve the very best that can be imagined.

"did not god create satan"

Answer these questions...

1) Would you like to see laws preventing you from doing anything that Christians consider evil?

2) Is it good to freedom to make moral choices?

3) Would it be fair to say that it's part of the nature of moral freedom to be possible to choose either good or evil? In other words, how can you say you are morally free if you can only choose good?

4) Can raw power make it possible to have genuine moral freedom, but no possibility of doing evil?

Heaven is what I see in my daughters eyes. And, I liked to believe that my Mommy found heaven the same as I describe our relationship when she was my mom here on earth

Re: Abra: "On the contrary I find good things to be much more tempting."

DJ: "is not the temptation in and of its self an evil thing"

Does "tempting" imply the thing desired is wrong? Hmm... aren't good things "tempting"? If I find an orange "tempting" and I acquiesce to my desire am I doing wrong- I think not.

"Adj. 1. tempting - highly attractive and able to arouse hope or desire; "an alluring prospect"; "her alluring smile"; "the voice was low and beguiling"; "difficult to say no to an enticing advertisement"; "a tempting invitation". alluring, beguiling, enticing, seductive - tending to entice into a desired action or state. 2. tempting - very pleasantly inviting"

Again, It doesn't sound bad to me but when I saw 'tempt" in this context I automatically associated it with a negative....

Temptations are things that we desire and although many buddhist and taoist teachings speak of the dangers of desire and desiring, upon further study it is usually *excessive* or jealous desires that are to be avoided.

IMO, it is not that "desires" or "temptation" is inherently wrong, just that moderation is the optimal and some desires (e.g. covetous desires) are unhealthy or unnatural.
