Topic: Extrovert, Introvert, or Ambiversion - where do you fit? | |

There are Myers-Briggs personality tests that you can take online for free to see whether you are an introvert or extrovert.

if ya don't find both equal, what do ya have. Not understanding your question in other words... to gravitate to believing any one trait be better than another, keep one from the most potential of one self. to be some of every trait. |

Very good point! I believe all have "some of every trait", but I also believe that some tend to lean more one way than the other. Nothing wrong with that |

I would say Im extrovertly introvert. Like to be with people, enjoy good time with them, but also have need to be alone in order to charge my batteries and to relax. Its my best rest. On the contrary I also know people who need to be surrounded by others all the time and that is their rest. When they are alone, they feel unhappy and low.
I think that being extrovert or introvert is more about this ability to feel satisfied with or without presence of others - it doesnt have to be about others inputs or checking system - it can be, but not necessarily. Its simply about the best way of charging ones batteries. |

I found my Meyers Briggs to be spot on and very interesting.
My understanding is that Extroverts are recharged by social contact and thrive on it. Introverts are depleted by too much social contact and need alone time to recharge. Regardless no one is an exact match of any category description and hopefully can just understand their own needs and act accordingly. PS Many performers are introverts not extroverts as many people assume. Performing allows them the platform to be expressive with out the social interaction... |

Probably an Ambiversion type. I'm an introvert until I trust someone.. then an extrovert :)

Don't know and don't care cuz I have better things to do with my time then take stupid quizzes to tell me that I'm just a somewhat extroverted, introvert and uniquely just me.

That in itself says something about you. It's not a 'stupid' quiz, it's based on Jung and has to do with psychology, personality, interest in insight in self etc. etc. |

Oh and by all means do that test whilst cooking food... I cooked the bleep out of my macaroni
Then spilled macaroni on the kitchen floor, I didn't swear, well, not much, just 1 word, Dutch equivalent of the F word .. I guess that makes me an introvert? Actually I'm somewhere in the middle .. depends on my mood, context etc. |

I have taken the Myers-Briggs assessment several times for different classes I had a college. Each time the results were different. It depended on my mood at the moment, what was happening around me, or if I had indigestion. I guess I do not put a lot of credence into those results.
Now to the topic, I am neither and both. My grandmother taught me that there are times to, "keep your darn mouth shut",(introvert) and times to, "stick your nose in other peoples business" (extrovert) choose wisely. There will be times when you can learn more by being a fly on the wall, and other times you can learn more by being the social butterfly. Know the difference. |
