“Within My Dreams”


For now it seems.
Love is only in my dreams.
With the one that will hold me tight.
As we lay within each others arms all night.
It seems that only there within my sleep.
This love I feel will have to keep.
Inside not being able to feel that very touch.
I yearn for so much.
Instead each morning I wake.
And wonder if this is all a mistake.
How did it become?
That inside I have began to feel numb.
Have I finally given in?
Knowing I will not feel that touch upon my skin.
That it was not meant to be.
Did I let my chance pass me?
How could I not have seen?
It seems so obscene.
Or is it all within fate.
That I’m to always just wait.
For something that will never be.
I’m finally starting to agree.
With this is how life will go.
That love is not meant for me to know.
For now it seems.
These things I will only feel within my dreams.
