Topic: Needing computer help please. | |
---|---|
I've recently started having trouble with my laptop. Everytime I shut it down and start it again it will not connect to the net. I have to do a system restore every day to get an internet connection. Any suggestions on what it could be. Thanks for any help.

First guess is security settings...made any changes lately?
If not, you might want to check those settings. |

I don't think its a security issue as I thought the same thing at first and completely uninstalled the security and it still does it. I' m pretty much computer illiterate.lol. Any other ideas? Thanks,Jamie. |

Reinstall and update your drivers. Sounds like a corrupt or outdated driver may be the culprit.

Reinstall and update your drivers. Sounds like a corrupt or outdated driver may be the culprit. Thanks mate. I was thinking it was something to do with OS. I've recently had it reinstalled due to errors. The computer is 3 years old so maybe it's getting towards the end of its life. |

Not sure if this will work but worth a try.
You will have to connect to the internet first to do it. Click on your internet strength signal(bottom right of screen) a box will come up click on properties another box will come up click on connections(top left of box) 3 small squares will come up, click on the one that says "connect automatically when this network is in range" click 'OK' Just a suggestion for you to try |

I am assuming you are talking about your wifi connection. Have you tried plugging your computer directly to your router via cable? If your OS was recently re installed then your network card drivers are probably out of date. (this happened to my desktop when I rebuilt it). You will need to connect via cable and download the new drivers.

Its due for an upgrade, if its not doing what you want anymore, but I've had five and Seven year old computers that did well for me. My current one is five and still kicks ***. I try to upgrade once or twice a year just because I like to though. It really just depends on your needs and desires, as long as the hardware is still in working order. |
