Not sure what this means but it sounded hilarious!!! Lol, basically when someone is as wide as they are tall... you can easily roll them through the garden as if they were a ball. We call ppl like that "round like a barrel", and ppl transported barrels by rolling them. |

All I have to say about that is, if you're happy with your size, why change it? I get that some prefer thin, but some also prefer curves. Find one who'll settle for you as a whole.

reality is a hard pill to swallow, most online daters' first dates are blighted by appearances yet this is one of the most unpopular threads??? just saying...

I think it depends a GREAT deal on ones own surroundings and the perception that comes with that. ..
I've met (and dated) many bigger girls...I'm 6'3 and have ranged in weight from 212 to 297 at different times in my life...I personally prefer bigger girls. but one thing I've seen is that even some of the smaller larger girls I've dated will see themselves as 'huge' sure there is a little extra but not that much...then I visit them at their work and they work around a bunch of anorexics, they are easily the biggest one there...so that's their expectation and what they base what they 'should' look like on. but in the opposite end some of the bigger larger girls see themselves as 'big' but not THAT big....then again I visit them at their office and the people around them are HUGE in comparison to them...so they see themselves as 'overweight' but not 'obese' because they are comparing themselves to those around them....it's interesting of how our perception of 'normal' changes so quickly. I'm sure a lot of foreigners that come to the U.S look around and say DAMN everyone here is HUGE, because their standard 'normal' is muxh smaller than a u.s 'normal' so if you want a guy that's perfectly accepting of your particular size, try different states, many states the average 'normal' is much larger and you'd be seen as relatively fit |

i have a rule... i don't date women that weigh more than i do... so clothing sizes won't matter

Okay some say they are a few pounds overweight .. When in fact they are medically obese .... There is a difference to curves and rolls of excess body fat. I am sure some men don't mind but most men want a woman who is in proportion and has feminine curves .. Marilyn was the epitome of the hourglass figure .. She was not fat . [ |

Do men really draw a line at size 12? I am seeing a pattern where as soon as the men on this site realise I am a size 16,interest wanes xx You're beautiful. Just be confident in that. |

This brought to mind a barrel of monkeys married to a barrel of fish. That reminded me of the opening part of MadTV's "Lowered Expectations" skits. That makes me want to go watch those. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gt4StirOzc&list=RD7gt4StirOzc&index=1 |

I've been reading this and thinking about it because I myself was thinking about starting a thread about this. Pretty close to the same topic.
Me, I'm a little on the heavy side. For me, it's caused by a medication that I have to take. As a matter of fact, two of them. It's a fight for me to try to keep my weight down. I have to take this medication. At one time, I really let it get next to me that I was getting bigger and couldn't seem to stop it. I worried about how women, in general, were going to "see" me. Would a woman even date me? I chewed on that for a while. After a lot of thought, I finally came to a decision. I didn't care. I made up my mind about it. I was going to take pride in myself. Everybody else didn't matter. I decided that I was going to keep my confidence in myself no matter what. I'm not talking about being cocky. My size might be changing. But my ability to get a woman didn't. I talk to women now just like I always have. I'm the same friendly, outgoing person I've always been. I still treat women with the same respect I always have. Not every woman jumps in my lap and wants to go out with me. But I don't sit at home alone every weekend either. One thing is the same whether you are a man trying to get a woman. Or a woman trying to get a man. When you get right down to it, It has nothing to do with your size. It's who you are. It's people's perception of us. Yes, You are going to run into these that only see the outside. And it's not that every one of them are shallow. Some, Sure, just preference. While others, it's poor perception. They just can't see the forest for the trees. But hang in there. Get out there and be who you are. If you keep trying, You will find one that can "see you." |

When I was still single, and dated different types of men, I found that I didn't like men who are thin. I liked big guys.
My husband is a huge man. He looks like a building with piercing eyes and gigantic muscular arms. I like how people scamper away when he glowers at them. :) Oh, and to the OP: The same thing happens to women. Some men prefer small girls and some the opposite. Point is, your size shouldn't matter to the right person. He will love you for who you are. |
