Tomorrow gonna have an MRI of my neck. I wanted that myself, but now getting rather nervous about it.
Had to fill out some form with questions, one of them "do you have any metal vascular clips, coils etc"
I don't effing know - xcuse my French. Had a cholecystectomy, I don't know what and if they used any metal clips :/
And I understand it's gonna be a 'coffin' - full body thing, I hate confined spaces. Had an MRI (I think it was an MRI) once before, donkey years ago, but that was a small one, just over my head/neck.
Dang, I wished it was Tuesday afternoon, so the MRI was over with. Sigh ...

they change how they do it now, you even get music, they talk to you all the way through. But if you keep your eyes closed it helps

Yeah, will prolly help to have some music. And I think I can keep myself from panicking, maybe it helps if I panic now, lol, to get it over with...
The one thing that concerns me now, is the question: do I have any metal clips in my body from the cholecystectomy?
Metal can be heated up by the MRI, GREAT! Let's fry my liver shall we

Must remember to remove the piercing from my ear, I'm glad now that I've lost the other 3 piercings I used to have ... Getting the things back in yourself is a nightmare.

My mom just had one about 3 months ago...Try not to worry!...She has some serious claustrophobia problems and she did fine ...It was over in minutes and they let me come in to the imaging room with her...Maybe you can take a friend along?...Good luck Crystal! ...Oh yeah, close your eyes and think of hot sex, they say that helps!!

Haha that may very well help, lol.

Here is a trick I use when undergoing the 'coffin' tests.
Close your eyes before you get to the x-ray room.
Keep them closed.
You will be amazed at what does NOT trigger your imagination
when the eyes are closed.
You can pretend you are anywhere.
I also, am highly claustrophobic.
Works like a charm.

I'm gonna do my best I should be able to do that AND keep myself calm, years of meditation and stuff.. but sometimes it don't work --> when I need it the most.
I don't think it will take all that long, after all it's just my neck, not even my head I don't think. There's nothing wrong with my head, that's what I keep telling myself anyways, lol.

nothing to worry about Ive been there its like a cheep elevator ride only its a lot more money and your laying down

Unless you have a steel plate in your head...nothing to worry about.

Got on the slidy thing, earplugs, headphones, alarm in my hand .. they put me in the machine and I had to move my arms closer to me, and I thought "Dang, that's real narrow!", and ... opened my eyes.... WRONG!!! Effing panicked, lol. Pushed the alarm, needed a breather, hadn't even been in there for 10 secs
Had a breather, one assistant offered to stay with me. YES PLEASE!! Back in the coffin and the sweet girl held my hand throughout.
Thought about Soufie's words, decided thinking about sex was not smart, lol, thought about Leigh's mum, all your sweet words - kind of like Mingling whilst having an MRI - at the same time pretending I was on a sunny beach.
If we ever have to evacuate the planet in small pods, I think I'm just gonna stay here, lol

Now feel so childish for freaking out, but dang, when I opened my eyes ... I had expected some 8 or 9" of space, think there's barely 4-5"?
The noise was outrageous .. like some guy with a jackhammer standing next to you.. so I was very pleased with my earplugs.

@ 3User, if elevators were like this, I'd never ever take the elevator again in my life!
