The ancient Pharisees were notorious for vain public displays of piety. That is why I mentioned Pharisaic thinking, because the OP of this thread assumes that a vain public display of piety is a must for people who don't believe in God's existence. Side Note: Pharisaic thinking doesn't imply that one is a Pharisee. It merely indicates a flaw in one's thinking. |

"so help me God" has always been an "option" in the oath according to law and 1st amendment rights, but some have been penalized for not using it in the past. It's a simple matter of who's applying the rules...... They say our basic unalienable rights are endowed by our creator..... So if you don't believe in god does that mean you have less rights or is that just govt/congress's plan.... do away with god and religion and the Constitutional/unalienable rights problem is solved! I don't believe in god, or religion.....bad medicine (look at the reasons "given" for war the bankers hide behind since Roman times).....I'm a sciences guy, but I would never take/vote away the right of others to worship or believe as works for them..... even that god was an ancient alien! Hey, why not?

Edgar said that fraud could have taken place because voters are not required to present identification at polling places in UK elections. "Somebody turned up to vote, they gave their name, the presiding officer went to cross off their name on their list of voters to give them a ballot paper and found that their name had already been crossed off and a ballot paper already issued to somebody who apparently had the same name," Edgar said. yea,but its nonetheless a gradual but steady descent to abyss and systematic obliteration of God from the consciousness of Americans;in addition to other ealier anti-God policies of the government of US Well, we can but hope so. That is the POINT of separation of church and state. God is a private thing, no 2 people in the world probably view it the same. Legislating what one thinks is ridiculous. |
