Worried. About 3 weeks ago this flat red spot showed up on my child's face. It didn't go away and became raised and larger. So I took him to his pediatric doctor and they tell me he has a fast growing hemangioma. (I'm sure that's spelled wrong). Its like a strawberry birthmark. Its nothing but blood vessels. Anyway they referred us to a dermatologist. Good news is she is the best in our town bad news is his appointment isn't until February. He is top on the list if someone cancels...IF! Everyday this spot grows and I'm worried it will damage his face and eye or worse. Plus kids are teasing him at school which had me ready to beat on some
Parents doors but my kid is amazing and he has learned how to handle himself even at age 4. I've called and called other doctors...no success in getting him seen sooner. Im afraid for my child...

I had one of them on my forehead, just above the brow, when I was six or seven.
If I scratched it, it would bleed like crazy. The dr. was going to burn it, but decided to leave it and see.
It gradually disappeared, as apparently they do.
I don't think you have to be worried, as far as it being a health risk.happy
