I actually forget what the topic was at work and would have forgotten it- except one of those snaggle-toothed crones who run to the office to complain they were offended by something appears to have ear hustled me again- she does this in order to have something to complain about. Is my statement offensive? What I said was "My ex used to worry the one kid was gay; I told her not to worry- he is too fat to be gay- he can't bend over for that long"

It is kind of offensive.
But can a joke be offensive? I would say no, a lot of people would say yes. Some jokes are just not appropriate in a work enviroment :p something like this is a reason to get fired, in germany. But as u might know, my fellow countrymen aren't very good in humor. :)) |

yes it is offensive, as well as insensitive(considering it's your own son) and ignorant.....but that's just me, I don't think belittling someone else is funny JMHO

yes it is offensive, as well as insensitive(considering it's your own son) and ignorant.....but that's just me, I don't think belittling someone else is funny. None of the kids were mine and while it is a true story, I was messing with her homophobia, like the people at work. The ex actually put gay porn magazines under his mattress and then "found" them to see how he would respond |
