so.. aside from the ENDless hours of study I've been forced to undertake to acquire this new "job" which is FREAKIN ridiculous they KEEP sending me MORE exams and study supplies.. I'm at the point of thinking this may NEVER end to where I actually get PAID for this shite!! and sincerely considering tellin'em to go fug themselves.. OYE.. I'm on week FIVE NOW

and I've started another campaign
in Quebec we have this "Partager la Route" BS (which translated means SHARE THE ROADS with cyclists)
anywho.. I've been talking with Transport Quebec (the guys that own & maintain the roads)about the hazards of cyclists on roads with speeds higher than 60km/hr (37mph) with some advances.. there's a HUGE misconception as to what their catchphrase "Partager la Route" (SHARE THE ROAD) actually means.. I've spoken to many motorists AND quite a few cyclists and they actually have a different understanding of the message.. motorists think they HAVE to let cyclists have priority (when that's not at all the case) and cyclists think they are free to 'act' like motorists in areas where the speed far exceeds those of the 'safe' zones.. people are pizzed... and rightfully so!

so far Transport Quebec has agreed to add new signs to the local road (and possibly on all roads throughout Quebec, thanks to my big mouth LOL) indicating where exactly the cyclist CAN ride and where they SHOULDN'T! I've also suggested a strong "educational" implementation on their part to clarify exactly WHAT their 'catchphrase' MEANS, in order to lessen the stress of the motorists AND the arrogance of the uninformed cyclist.. the answer I got was, they're looking into it (which simply means they'll get to it when they have time AND if they FEEL like it).. but I'm not one that sits idly by waiting for things to CHANGE.. so.. I've reached out to my Mayor and have a meeting with him next week.. in the meantime, I'm contacting other municipalities in the area to get meetings with THEIR mayor's as well.. apparently if demands come from the municipalities, it has a LOT more weight..

how it all started?? where I am the speeds are 90 km/hr(56mph) and this area has lots of higher speed traffic (as many do more than the limit and we have lotsa big rigs/semi trucks) and NO soft shoulders.. so the cyclists have to be ON the road (which if you look at Transport Quebec's "bike friendly" map, this area is actually NOT supposed to have cyclists on at all) however.. NO one seems to be aware of the "bike friendly routes" map on their website (which again shows people need education).. and cyclists are ignoring the laws and doing whatever they please(mainly because they're ignorant of them).. I overheard 2 cyclist guys just last week, biking past my place.. the 2nd guy said to the lead "hey.. we've got some traffic behind us" the lead guy responded "yeah and? screw'em.. we have rights and they have to learn how to "partager la route".. they both chuckled while moments later I saw the expressions of anxiety and anger on the motorists faces as they passed me, hoping to get past the cyclists.. which isn't possible for another mile or so cuz the road here is very curvy with lots of thick foliage from the trees etc making visibility of oncoming traffic next to impossible to see.. however this has been a craw in many local motorists sides for MUCH longer than that!

in a nutshell.. thats part of what I've been up to lately.. to try and preserve some sanity in our daily lives AND maybe.. just maybe.. SAVE a few cyclists lives in the meantime..
