Watched the 2hr season premiere last night. Had read a review beforehand that said it was like Game of Thrones meets Robin Hood meets Braveheart. Pretty spot on if ya add SOA also. Seems half the SOA cast is on...including Gemma lol
Premiere was a setup to how the bastard executioner comes to be, well, the executioner.
Kinda Braveheart-esque...A knight is betrayed by his king...puts his sword down and becomes a farmer with his pregnant wife. He and other villagers raid tax collectors who are over taxing them. King finds out and pillages the village while the men are out. Very gory, even for FX. Kids are shown having their throat cut, baby is ripped out of the womb, etc...
Definitely a Kurt Sutter series lol. Even had a scene of the king or baron or whatever he was sitting on the throne...and by throne, I mean crapper...and he had an official butt wiper

Watched the last episode of "Turn, Washington's spies" last night. Now I have to wait till next year, dang it! I really like the series!

Disappointing though, I switched it off halfway through. No offense, but this kind of thing is best left to the English to make.
This is typical American... Mad Max like, way too violent, too chaotic etc. I seriously wonder if this series is going to catch on.
Can understand Kurt wanted a shot at it, with GoT and Outlander being so popular. He did a he|| of a good job at SoA, excellent series! I think he should've kept it to that genre. And maybe sold this story to the Beep. They would've made something good out of it. Again, no offense. Americans are real good at many movies and series, but some things should be left to the British.

No worries...Im not offended. I think hes trying to sell the series using too much gore and not enough substance...so far anyway. And I dont think the main character, the executioner is very believable. Im gonna give it a cpl more episodes though lol
