Topic: Dance Among the Trees | |
---|---|
Dance Among the Trees is about the fate of a leaf as autumn changes to winter.
Oh to dance among the trees, Of crimson red or forest green, Free as a lark or bird of blue, Delicate as a drop of dew. To pirouette first up then down, Or slowly sway to kiss the ground, Until the wind draws up a gust, Begin again as autumn must. Graceful as a falling star, Strumming , strumming- old guitar, Finale radiant though veins be crisp, Dropping, dropping in pale mist. Children gather among the trees Cascading colors . . . a frenzied breeze Triumphant flies her fate once more, Whirling, whirling to meet the floor. She dances once, she dances twice- Among the trees to greet the ice, Wintery boughs shall miss her dance, Among the trees upon a branch. SDF |

Such graceful personification of something we all so love to see! Beautifully written- can I be a leaf dancing in the trees as I fall?
