Topic: Saying Hello | |
---|---|
Has this introduction gone overrated? Do people still prefer simple gestures in the beginning of meeting others? Friend or future anything. I rarely see people in the dating world actually taking the subtle/simple method when they want to get to know someone new.
Who here still likes it when a man or woman say hello as form of a greeting? |

Who here still likes it when a man or woman say hello as form of a greeting? The world has gotten to complicated, fast paced, and self centered for the simple greetings of just saying hi or small talk. When a simple hi, may be the best thing somebody has heard in a long time. People have to many "motives" these days and it's about them, to just share a simple gesture of hi. But on other news, howdy Mariah lol :) |

But on other news, howdy Mariah lol :) Yes, I'd probably say somewhere along the line of proper etiquette both sexes (not all most) have lost the simple gestures that were always enough least for me. The world is complicated because people make it so. I agree a lot of guys I run into have motives and so I deal with their priggish ways with a and laugh it off when they throw out the cheesiest lines just to show they are "interested." Couldn't hurt (or maybe it does, not inside their heads to tell anymore) to be a gentlemen and calm themselves most of the time. Hi, see how great that was, I barely did anything. |

just like in real time, I prefer an introduction that includes a name as well,,,,
in person, it starts a naturally flowing conversation, complete with questions and answers in text, that could end up very lengthy so I also prefer a few questions and answers included in that first contact. |

YES, I really believe that anyone who learns, knows and spells my name correctly is interested in me. Yeah intros are meant to be small talk and short answers. |

Awwwww, you have such charm, CowboyGH :)
A simple "Hi, how are you? My name is..............", followed by a friendly smile, I feel that art has been lost for a while. It would make you feel warm inside. Whereas, if someone came up to me, all shouty, I'd feel a bit wary of them. |

Unfortunately the world doesn't seem to be that way anymore, at least not the women in my generation/age area. That's why I have not found a woman, I don't offer what they seek. I don't offer the immediate physical side of the relationship. And that seems to be the only thing they find "attractive" these days. But I keep my hopes up that there's a woman out there with the same morals and ethics similarly to mine. |

I just kick them in the butt from the "nudge" toolbar

I always ask a trivia question, such as...."How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood"?

^ Mind-blowing ^
I'd prefer straight to the point greetings. No trivias / tricks / nudges. |

I always ask a trivia question, such as...."How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood"? The woodchuck would chuck as much wood as the woodchuck could chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood. |

With exception to Monday, it usually seems you have to have some sort of flash to make your message stand out 1st, to even have the other person read it. Let alone respond. I personally will never send my name with the 1st message, as I don't think that should be someone's 1st focus. You know there are people that won't talk to people because of their name.

In the dating world, I think hello has more than one meaning.
That's why I think it is over used. I'm always in favour of the straight forward approach over the ambiguity that hello has become. |

I remember when the word hello was a real panty dropper, but now people get mad because you take time to speak to them.. |

It's easier if you just get cards printed up that say "get your coat luv, you've pulled" |
