I guess I didn't really know what it was. I thought it was like the Roku. But it doesn't come with a remote. Since I am running Lubuntu the first thing I had to get was the Chromium web browser which is easier now with Linux. But then it wanted a Mac OS or Windows. Figures.laugh It says you can set it up with a Laptop or a cell phone. Oh, well. It was just $35.00ohwell

I have set it up with Windows 7, and the android phone can handle the interface. Only once with a Mac, and it was a pain. Ubuntu must be hell!? If you want to watch the PC on the flat TV use a 15 Pin D connector cable. The 10 footer is less than 4 dollars on the web.

It has been trying to set up but just not there, yet. I got a 42 inch Visio with three HDMI ports. HDMI 1 is Roku; HDMI 2 is Directv and the Chromecast is on HDMI 3. Installing the Chromium web broswer got me to the set up page. It can be a pain. I have been thinking of trying Wine. Or maybe putting Windows on my other Hard drive.

I'm new to this and it's my first post so apologies if this has been answered.

I have Chromcast and I use an application called Plex - https://plex.tv/ which works well with PC and tablets. You tell Plex what movies, songs, photos etc you want to stream to your TV and it does the rest. I control it with my Nexus table, but PC works just as well.

Anyway thought I would just add to the discussion.

Thnaks.

(*)[It is a simple solution and it works (unless your pet gets a cable winking ).
