there must be a reason why there are so many scammers here. do people really fall for it? you have all seen it if you been on for more than a month! the topical "i live in the USA but im in afica my dad died, ill send you a check to cash" or "my dad died i need money to get the house back" the list goes on. is there any control from mingle on this?

There on all sites just report them. We all get them. Overall this is a great site

If we all report every one we encounter, we would minimize the chance they could get to others. As pkh said, this is an awesome site with lots of real people. Join in the forums for some good discussions or play some games with some silly people! It's all good and great fun!

It's everywhere. I recently even started getting them to even my personal email address.


And sadly, more people fall for it than you'd think.

oddly enough I do not receive a lot of scammers .. but oddly enough I don't respond to my mail..
.. well I do but you have to be from.
. you know.. one of these European countries... don't ask me why.
. I just find people from the rest of the world.. to be a little..hmm..
what's the word.. oh yeah in need of passport.... are they want me to give them $500... and then $500... and then $500.. and then $500.. and then 500... and then they promise to marry me... if I send them $5000...
. it has gotten really expensive. just to chat with people on the other side of the world..

But in all seriousness, I think if people really pay attention a scammers easy to spot for the most part. The fact that the show Catfish is as big as it is blows my mind.

I was downtown the other day and a lady wanted .50 cents to catch the bus. The nerve! I was on my game though, didn't fall for that! Scammers lol (hint of sarcasm)

scammers use the forums like fishing in a bucket, they definitely watch the action here...even if you're in the stealth mode, once you start posting "live" they know they have a shot at someone on the other end of their line....i know the number of hits i get go way up when i am posting....really cant do anything about it...block & report only brings them back as another profile....i delete & ignore that works best for me...

I'm the same. I only report them if they ask me for money in the first message. It's a waste of time to reply to messages from people from these places, whether they are scammers or not.

I just ignore one sub continent because it's rife with pervs and one continent because it's rife with scammers and a few other countries thrown in.
I know I shouldn't tie them all to the one brush but I'll be f--ked if I'm going to try and weed out the good from the bad.

Its one reason i have been hanging out in the forum. Its like chat rooms used to b before video came up.
