At work they upped someone's Klonopin; I ask why; he has been having behaviours, they say; I point out behaviours don't always qualify as a psychiatric disorder: anti-psychotics (don't you like that term, makes you think you can just pluck psychosis out of the brain- I didn't know you can do that) effect your dopamine pathways- the ones to your frontal cortex, the thing that makes you human- thinking feeling caring; in effect its a chemical lobotomy.

They said monitor him for sleepiness, I said monitor him for aggression and a decrease on spontaaneous behaviour and increased O/C behaviour. Sure he is a bit sleepy, but also punched someone out and began some serious scab picking.

Rule of thumb for violent assessment:

J- Justification, does the person feel justified for being violent
A- Alternatives- does the person have alternatives to violent behaviour
D-Detriment, does the person care about the outcome to himself
A- Ability, does the person have the ability to do violence, here a weapon greatly improves his ability
