i like almost all music. some songs i get into the poetic nature of the
lyrics no matter what side of life or emotion it conveys and some i just
like the music. sometimes a song will get put together where i like the
whole package. i like the way they incorporate the music into the lyrics
for the overall sound, i just like music in general froom country and
blues all the way through heaveymetal and rap. some of my favorites
right now are gnarls barkley,my chemical romance, young jeezy and common
but i have a list of alltime favorites a mile long so i won't get into
that

I like all kinds of music, each is different and gets me into a
different kind of mood. But you forgot one of my favorites in your list.
BLUES. It's often the overlooked music style. But with out it you never
would have had rock or country music. It is the grandfather to both.

i love the blues but the funny thing is when i listen to the blues or a
dark song from another genre it doesn't make me feel sad or angry but
rather calm and relaxed. it's weird because i don't get off on pain and
sadness and music rarely ever evokes emotion or rememberance from me,
i've yet to figure that one out lol.

ptjoker has a point about the blues. It is my favorite venue as well.

Sorry, they took the "Delete" button away ~ LOL!

In my opinion, there is no explanation necessary for why you love blues.
It's not really a "why" issue. It's more like ~ either you FEEL it...or
you don't.

Rock all the way. I don't care if it's metal, hard rock, classic rock,
alternative rock, modern rock, underground rock, etc. It's all rock to
me.

I understand but don't understand why there are so many catergories of
rock music now. I'm sorry but rock is rock in my book and I love it all.

I'd be lyin if I say I love all music... cuz frankly orchestra kills me.
I'd rather have a Pap smear lol

But I love RnB, in some rap..more like hip hop tho, its not as harsh. I
do jazz when I'm doin homework or tryin to go to sleep, or tryin to calm
down b4 I go shoot some1 (LOL!). Some rock is cool. My best friend's
into that so she's introducin me. I get into gospel when I'm feelin
holy, or that I need to be holy and inspired (lol!). Country is funny,
it just tells stories, I love it! SO interesting. N I love to dance so
gotta hit the reggae, and the booty-shakin music (come on, I'm from the
A!) I'll get down wit some ol' early 90's, early 60's n 70's shit too,
cuz words actually had meaning to songs back then.
Oh yeah, n I love that baby-makin music (Luther, Brian McKnight,
Jodeci, Boyz2Men, Sade, Lionel Richie, R Kelley...) when I'm wit my man
one-on-one cuz it gives us a rhythm n vibe to move to!

I like 80's music - all of it.
It's nastalgic to me. Some of the best years of my life were in the 80's
when I was a teenager.

PTJOKER is correct!! I did forget Blues!! And he is correct about the
blues starting it all. If you watch the film "METAL - The Headbangers
Journey", it will tell you that he is correct. I will say my genre is
METAL....ALL THE WAY, whether it be Killswitch Engage, Cradle Of Filth,
Shadows Fall, Lamb Of God, Slipknot, God Forbid, DevilDriver, Demon
Hunter, Norma Jean (which is a Christian Metal Band just like Demon
Hunter) and even some Black Metal like, Mayhem, Satyricon, Emperor and
so on..... Metal is my outlet, let's me get it all out in the open
about this world and is in my heart, I feel it, breathe it and smell
it!! It's the MAIN MUSIC I play on my Computer and in my vehicle. 80's
is my other one and there are so many of those I won't name em!! The
ONE SONG that does get me and reminds me of the film, "Apocalypse Now"
is by "The Doors - The End". This is about the only Classic Rock Song I
listen to. It brings a feeling in me in my down time just like Light
Songs do and I listen to those also.

Styx, Pink Floyd, Celine dionne.
I say go for the gusto never limit yourself and do what feels right!
