Hello everyone. A friend and I were just talking the other day, and the question kind of puzzled me. Where'd the word "projects" come from, referring to the generally poor, tenemant housing found lurking in some corner of every city? I was just wondering because, well, why is it a "project"? Like an experiment? I googled the topic, but of course the general search came far from what "the projects" are that I'm referring to. No, I'm not a ditz; I'm actually just curoiuos, and interested in hearing peoples' opinions...
Oh, and please do so in refraining from racist or demeaning language. Education doesn't have to be offensive, on the contrary it should be enlightning. I invite all ideas, and encourage the intelligent, meaningful ones.

maybe the gov has a project to build up that part of town.

I am in Buffalo N.Y. there are many areas with " Housing Projects" . Here they usually do house low income families. There are some that are decent in okay areas~ some utilities are combined with rent according to income.
Others are in not so good areas that most people do not even like driving or walking by.Unfortunately they are not kept up well and attract not so good people with barely any income. But that is par for the coarse in Buffalo.

Of course it's a project as in "experiment". What else? Wake up people...the answer has been staring you in the face all along. It's really not that deep.

An intresting Project for all the introverts in the crowd...

A few HighSchool Nerds go together and micro chipped every car in their neighbor hoods
with very small solar powered GPS Trasponders, to see where most people went and to study trends and High Traffic Patterns,bu they were geeks and they got busted...

This is where things got really strange,on the one hand The Local DA wanted to convict them of invasion of privacy,on the other hand everyone from the Cops to advertising and marketing Companies want to hire them to use their low key tech on other such covert projects...


Such a delema, I wonder if this is how Bill Gates got his start ???
