The other day i watched Coach Carter.
I saw all those kids were just statistics. Most of them were potential criminals specially Cruz. The school system and the parents supported them in order to fail. They were a failure not because of themselves. They were a failure just because the system pushed them to be a failure.
Coach Carter came and pushed them beyond the limit, and all of them made it to college something unimanginable.
Relating this movie to ourselves sometimes we are like those kids in our way, in our specific circumstances in life.
Most of the time we don't have a coach Carter.
so do we push ourselves beyond the limit?
i don't have a coach Carter in my life.
I just have myself now (I hope someday it changes), but I can't sit there and see how life passes by. I need to get moving the fastest I can.
I need to push myself beyond the limit nobody does anything for me. Then I have to do it no matter what.
I have a goal and no matter what i have to prevail
Lately times are really I mean really rough for me (financially), but i have to get it done no matter what.
i'm going to be done with school debt free because i've been paying upfront studying full time, and working over 40 hours a week including weekends most of the times.
Nevertheless, money is always short, and bills are always long.
I'm even thinking on going for my BS, and who knows I may be able to go to law school.
but for that I have to push myself beyond the limit. The sky is the limit and just fighters are meant to reach it.
As Tony Montana said in Scarface: "The world is yours." I would add to it: "It's up to you to move your rear end and get it."

Youre right!!!! I do believe that anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it!!! Motivation can come by hard, but if you put complete focus into what you want, you will get it!!!bigsmile

yeah but like Tony Montana are the paths chosen whether selling at personal talent like singing, as Alicia Keys, micro chips like Bill Gates or drugs like Scareface less honarable then another? IN coach Carter you seen Cruz was subjected to selling drugs but he had Carter what about those who dont but have the same goal?

how many times we hear stories of people who have been in the same envirenment as Cruz. And some point they have realized that there was another option by themselves.
It's not easy. If it were it would be damn boring.
the question is how much balls we have to leave a negative situation by ourselves.

I havent seen the movie, but I know that everyone has choices, and whether we choose the right or wrong path, we cannot blame anyone or anything else but ourselves.

I agree with all of you, all Im asking is is it wrong to use negative means in order to change your life for the better. One thing life is alot diffrent from the movies theyre arent many opportunities for kids in those types of enviroments statistics prove that fact, so if one takes that negative situation and uses it to go to college and get out of a debilitating situation does it make that person wrong?

well my friend i'm afraid i don't agree with you.
coach carter was based on a true story that is why it impacted me.
i know holliwood exagerates most of the times.
remember junior in that movie. he was not like Cruz. He worked hard in the same environment and he prevailed.
the same coach carter. he lived in the same neighborhood under the same circumstances, and he prevailed.

Cruz had to see his cousin die violently. to see that it was a crappy life.
and he chose te right thing to do

yes it was based on a true story but how many stories do you think are to be told coming out of that enviroment of course those on the outside can look thru that stained glass and take one success story and assume that it applies to everyone in the same situation but it doesnt happen like that. I made it out but my methods where decided by a judge if not Id probably be in the grave with my 2 cousins or in prison like my 2 younger brothers and some many aunts uncles cousin, or still there wondering I could get to where I am now. there are very few story book ending in that situation although there are many who thrive to achieve just that.

Its all about YOU and your CHOICES!!!!

If a person grows up around an alcoholic, they either make the choice to drink or obstain from alcohol.

If a person grows up in an abusive family, THEY have to make the choice to either become an abuser or not......

Its all about what you as a person will or won't do to make your life betterflowerforyou

those are all diffrent type of situations neither has the ability to free you from that state in which are traped but some however do. And I am proud of myself but Im one of the priviledged few and like it took the death of someone Cruz looked up to and admired for me it almost having to spend the rest of my life in prison.
