Yes, there are many fakes out here but they are not to difficult to figure out. There are also many nice real people out here, so don't give up too soon

If the profile has not been used in 30 days, the person is either in stealth mode, found someone and forgot the profile here, or is not interested anymore... or some other reasons. In any case, if the profile ur looking at has not been used in a month, do not nudge, im, or email: its a waste.
And yes, this is online dating... the nitty-gritty!  That's a good title for a book...!

This is a terrible and widespread issue on this site especially. What is this site doing about weeding out fake profiles? Could we at least report the fakes?

I guess the best thing to do, is just see which profiles seem the most genuine. If not, there's always offline life.

Old fake profiles? Yeah, I've dated some that lied about their age I suppose.

You can tell a lot of fake stuff by bad grammar. There are people who message me claiming to be from bigger cities in the U.S. and you can hardly understand what they write.
Had one who claimed to be from San Jose, 2 hours away from me with lots of interesting things to do. I asked him what's his favorite part about where he lives and he couldn't come up with a single idea. |

If they're in stealth I do not believe it says anything at all. On-topic...The site is free, kind of like chat rooms are free, hence why there is always a s*ton of scammers trying to get you to view their cam site on some weird web host from the Eastern Bloc or something. You get what you pay for, in so many words, but this site does an awesome job ridding it of scammers so long as you utilize the report feature at the top of the profile. |

What about the dodgy type, that say they want to get to know you, but run off? They're just as cowardly as the scammers. But they're not worth a second thought. One did apologize to me for doing that, but then again, he was a decent person, so he wasn't being an *******.
